I am not sure about Alexa, but it works remotely without a manual press of a button from anywhere that I am with my phone. I can start it even if I'm 10 mi away through the app as long as the kettle is connected to the Wi-Fi of my home. It is very convenient, I love this product!

Is this double walled (i.e. cool touch)?

Smart Electric Kettle is not the double wall, When boiling water, the kettle's exterior surface to get hot. Please do not touch the kettle's surface with your bare hands.
