Q: Can this coat be worn with a harness?

No, a harness generally has the fastening hook on the back positioned behind the front legs. The coat has it's hole around the collar so it's not suitable. Buster do coats with harness holes and also Repelz It at Pets at Home. If you have a small dog harnesses put less strain on the dogs neck, and help prevent collapsing the throat which can happen to small dogs - worth researching.

Q: How genuinely waterproof is the OUTER coat ON IT'S OWN? I'm looking for a summer coat that isn't too hot, but is genuinely waterproof. Thx

It's pretty good, probably one of the best I've used, my dog is a chihuahua so he is low to the ground and grts a wet tummy no matter what but his back has never gotten wet by the rain. Providing i keep him off the grass and out of puddles the rain has never gotten through. I brought one for my mum's dog and she says the same, its breathable too so our dogs have never overheated in them. I highly recommend this. I live in a city, but we've used them on beaches and the countryside too. Hope this helps

Q: How do you measure for the size? Head to tail or around the chest?

I measured my dogs from neck to base of tail. The velcro straps adjust to the size of your dogs chest, so you don't have to measure around the chest.Hope that helps.

Q: Will this coat keep my Bichons chest and tummy clean please ?

Not fully, chest is OK but do get splash up on tummy. Comes with detachable fleece which is handy for cold weather the only drawback with the coat is that on long walks especially the beach you can get a bit of chaffing around the front legs. But overall does its job.
