Take long to dry but after dry its get hard work very good

We developed a small exhaust leak where the exhaust pipe from the catalytic splits in two before the mufflers. 17 year old Subaru, driven in Maine winters for the previous 11 years (not daily), so some rust and corrosion on the pipes to be expected. An attempt was made to weld it, but not enough intact metal to accomplish a proper seal. This product looked interesting, so I gave it a try, but quite a gap to fill, and we use the car on a regular basis and I could not allow more than overnight for it to dry, so the material slumped a bit, and the exhaust leak punched a small hole through the uncurled patch. Surprisingly the 70% that remained did harden up over the next day or two, and I decided to complete the patch with more of the same material, let dry for a number of hours, then took a heat gun to speed up the cure, and let it sit overnight. The patch is complete and holding well for the past couple of weeks. If I had to do this over again, I would probably use a mix of steel wool and sealant to create a less slumpy material, given the gap to fill was large.

Normally I have a decent success rate with this sorta project. Prepared the surface and applied product to a hairline crack in the weld where the exhaust pipe enters the muffler. Product was flaking off within a week. Bummer!

Was not as effective as some of the other brands, but to be fair there is a noticeable difference in the price and your results may be different, our was not as well as hoped, but not unexpected.
