Very strong wire brush
My only issue with this brush head is that it doesn't fit a standard pole and the screw hole to attach it to a pole is way too narrow for a decent thick screw that is needed to hold it tight. It is however a very good brush and really scrubbed the discoloured surface of some old slabs.

Buy the right sized handle. 28mm.
Good sturdy quality brush head. Make sure you use the right size of broom handle though. Both Amazon AND Cottam seem to think that 23mm is the right size, see photo of the box it came in, but the size you actually need is 28mm diameter handle. I bought this to brush moss off my garage roof and it worked very well for about 45 seconds and then got clogged up and very heavy with wet moss. It took so long to get the moss off the brush that I gave up and instead used a large plastic dustpan as a scraper to get the moss off the roof. I should have used the brush during the heatwave when the moss was dry. Ah, c'est la vie!

Good for flat surfaces.
The normal monoblock wire brush that you see in most garden centres and hardware stores, narrow to the point of application. These are good for removing moss (which doesn't have roots) from the joints - although they have difficulty with grass which has roots. If moss has spread over the flat surface of the monoblock, these pointed wire brushes become very inefficient. That's where this flat surface wire brush takes over. So, having both in your set of tools is what I recommend.Of course, you need a handle. If you have been using the pointed wire brushes for a long time, and saved your handles, you will be very pleased. Otherwise, you may need to do a bit of adjustment to fit another handle. You must use a screw to keep it secure.

Strength of bristle.
Moss is a pain in the bum this time of year. But the brush head is just the ticket. Very good and quick to move moss.

Not British Made
Brush head appears to be pretty decent and sturdily made. Cottam says British brush makers and as a patriot I like to buy British. It is not until the brush arrives that you find out it is made in China. I felt this was misleading.

Got this to remove moss and muscles are required.
You definitely need muscle power if you are going to use it to remove moss as I did. It does do the job and is very sharp. You will need something like a screwdriver or flat trowel to keep clearing the moss out of the bristles - can't do it with your hands as it is very sharp.I cleared a driveway of moss but I had to do it over a few days due to the muscles required (I don't have many clearly) but if you have been blessed with muscles then this will work for you and no horrible chemicals which is a bonus.
