I have no idea. I suggest you direct your question to the company that produces it. It is some years since I used this product, but I don't recall being aware of rayon particles.

Q: Does it help regrowth to be thicher, or just give the illusion of being thicker?

Hiya this gives the illusion of thicker hair it does not help regrowth, this is a styling product and not a treatment for fine hair. However I found it a good product and gives texture to the hair when styling, only need a small amount.
