SEB 790142 Gasket Seal for 8L Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker

This gasket was a wee bit big I had to cut about 2” of it for it to fit my cooker lid , it works iv tried it out n there’s no steam woosing from the lid anymore, my pressure cooker must be at least 25years old n it’s great I’m able to get a gasket for it, if there’s anybody out there has an old cooker don’t give up try Amazon they are sure to have one that fits. Product arrived promptly. It is the original fitting so it does the job perfectly.

The rubber seal of my 6 litre Magefesa pressure cooker was perished, so the cooker did not reach the correct pressure. My pressure cooker looks very similar to some Seb and Tefal models. However, local hardware shops could not supply a replacement gasket. The Seb 790142 gasket is designed for an 8 litre cooker, so I used a sharp knife to reduce the length (not a difficult job). It works perfectly. However, I discovered subsequently that other UK vendors sell the same gasket more cheaply than Amazon. This is a French product so not surprisingly, it is much cheaper in France. However, the postage costs from France negate the price advantage.

I eventually got around to replacing the rubber Gasket on my SEB pressure cooker. The supplied seal was way too long and the manufacturer stressed that you shouldn't cut it to length. I didn't really have much choice so went ahead and trimmed it, making sure the cut was as flat and clean as possible. It didn't seem to work at first but after settling down the seal no longer leaks water around the edges.

Arrived in its original packaging and very easy to fit. Will give a second life to a very old pressure cooker (used to belong to my mum ;-)

I’ve been looking for a replacement gasket for my pressure cooker for a while so was pleased that it fits and works.

Exactly what was required for our pressure cooker which we bought whilst on holiday in 1975. Obviously giving the cooker a new lease of life. The seal was dispatched and received very quickly, excellent service.
