Worked for less than a month
The media could not be loaded. Used it 3 times it worked fine then the 4th time (only a month after purchased) it no longer opens. The pin just won’t open anymore.

MAJOR DESIGN FLAW!!!
I didn't notice until I tried it for the first time, but the release pin on this piece of junk isn't centered. I have a DJI Mini SE, which is very small. With the load I'm trying to drop deliberately designed to be off-center, the drone goes sideways and out of control. I destroyed a few propeller blades trying to land it. Could have wrecked the drone. Don't buy this crap.

Haven't learned how to fly yet ??
It seems to work well playing with it in my hand but I haven't learned how to fly my new drone yet to actually try to use drop lock?? It reacts fast when pushing the car alarm shaped remote comes with two little snap hooks on what looks to be kevlar string tied on a loop in sure it will work just fine as long as the distance of connection is similar to the distance of the remote of drone??? I will update this review when I can provide more actual knowledge about it..

Worked about 10 times then died.. Too late to send back, off to the trash can for this piece of garbage

Does not work
I read the instructions and followed them to the letter. The mechanism will not consistently lock or release when pushing the buttons on the remote. I will be returning this item.EDIT I bought a second one hoping the first one that didn’t work was a fluke. The second one worked for a while and now the release does not respond. Strike two and there won’t be a chance for a third. DO NOT BUY!

The power cord melted and almost started a fire in my kitchen
I plugged it in and the cord started to heat up. Within 5 minutes the cord was smoking and melted. Fortunately I was here and paid attention.Other than that the function worked on my mini 3 pro once . Since I cannot charge it now I am not sure how well it works overall.
