Q: How is this any better than keeping butter out in a butter dish? We do that without any issues or having to spatula butter into a container.

Butter can be left on the counter in any covered butter dish with good results. I used a clear glass covered butter dish prior to buying my Butter Bell, but I felt the lid was slippery and it wasn't as nice looking. Also, I think the water in the Butter Bell keeps the butter fresher and it has a better texture.

Q: Is this true white or off white? It looks off white?

True white. I think there is another that is off white (called linen?).

Q: What are the dimensions of this crock? Hard to tell from the picture. Thanks

Full crock is about 4 1/2" tall with a 4" diameter. I place 1/4 cup ( 1stick) of butter in mine. May I please also add that this is the best thing that has ever happened to butter...don't forget to change the water!
