I got these because every time I make pizza my alarm goes off. I double them up on each alarm and they work great. Kinda ugly, but that's good otherwise I would probably leave them up by accident.

I love this item. I have a gas stove and when I opened the oven door, my alarms would go off from the heat. While cooking, I use the covers. They work like a charm. Reminds me of shower hats for fire alarms

I've purchased some of these in the past and I'm very pleased with these. They're lightweight but they're heavy enough. You could use these on, say a bowl in the microwave. Not sure how well they'd hold up but these are big enough to do that with. The one thing I will say is always check the size of your smoke detectors or whatever you need to place these on because apparently there's a lot of different sizes and that's very important. I have some that are too small because I didn't realize that they were different sizes. These are slightly larger. One that I got this time that fit are detectors better. I almost wish I would get a bigger size and I might just so that I have. It's a little easier to get it on rather than sucking tight to the device. It's more baggy on the device so always check your size but these are perfect for that. They're great for the keeping the dust off because you don't want to tape of the tape. Residue on smoke detectors is horrible for him so always use these when you can. My other option has been to take off detectors but that always causes an issues with the system

Some detectors will still need to be taped off if the paint detail matters. If the detector has a flared “foot” then this will possibly only cover the working part of the unit and not the base.

We use 10 year smoke detectors in our rentals. On one hand, they are nice because you don't have to change batteries. On the other hand, if one dies premature, you'll be sad because they are like $30+ each. We're remodeling one of our units and these covers are great at protecting them from dust and paint while we work.WARNING: your smoke detector won't work with these on. I think this is common sense but just putting that out there.We have an old battery smoke detector without these covers to be safe. We're going to throw it away after so it doesn't matter if it gets damaged during construction.

Happy to have it. Used it once while cooking and it kept the smoke alarm from going off. Otherwise we used to have to use towels to fan at the alarm.

These are great to have around especially if you're just painting as the fumes can screw up the sensor. I also use one on my oil funnels to keep debris out of them while they sit around my garage between oil changes.these are worth it to have around.great product
