For pastel hair this is THE BEST!
This stuff ROCKS! I have been bleaching and coloring my hair (semi-permanent) various shades of purple for almost a year. I have been in search of the PERFECT pastel lavender and I have tried SO many lines (Manic Panic, Directions UK, Special Effects, etc.) using conditioner to soften the color. I get nice shades but it doesn't take at the roots. FINALLY I found this Goldwell Elumen Clear, mixed with VV@all, Goldwell Elumen High-Performance Haircolor, VV @ ALL has given me the PERFECT pastel lavender hair. I LOVE IT! It took to my roots well and the color is just plain fabulous.Now....a warning....the color in your bowl when you mix 9:1 may appear a weird...you have to spread it on a tissue to see the color it will be on your hair. I also recommend (for all you people out there who wanna lose your color and take on a pastel shade) you use the Hydracap Hydracap Deep Hydrating. It is the simpler way to "saran wrap" your hair to keep your natural body heat in for best color results. You put the cap on and then blow-dry it. It shrinks to fit your head (really kewl to watch) so you won't drip as much and won't rub off on a couch. One teensy downside to the Goldwell Elumen formula is it is sorta drippy. It doesn't stain skin and counters as bad as some other semi-permanent colors (ie: Manic Panic) but it WILL drip. Has a nice, non-overpowering scent too. Good luck!

fantastic product
I use the Elumen clear with a drop of the Elumen VV@all to tone down any brassiness in my bleached blonde highlights. Works like a charm, and makes my hair shiny, sleek, healthy looking. Feels a bit dry when you wash off after the initial application, but after a good condition my hair looked amazing when dry.Still not sure how long it lasts on the hair, as my hair is dry and I usually try to hold off washing until every 4-5 days, and it's been a couple of weeks since my first application.love love love this stuff, I have finally found something that works for my fine, wavy (prone to frizz) hairUPDATE 2016I really do love this stuff, as it makes my hair look amazing. I just wish it lasted longer on my fine, porous hair. I find it is time for a re-application after about 4-6 shampoos, sigh. It gets pricey with the pre-treatment and the lock treatment that you have to do as well. After looking at the ingredients for the pre-treatment, I have substituted with a mild apple cider vinegar rinse when I ran out, and this did not seem to affect the performance of the product.

Just like the salon!
Used it for the first time today. Hair is shiny and happy! My salon stopped offering glazes/glosses, so I had to go the DIY route. I'm glad I found this product. My salon uses Goldwell color and this glaze/gloss is definitely salon quality.I had a hard time finding directions for applying the clear gloss, so I did what I found on-line: wash and condition hair as usual, towel dry, apply a few tablespoons of this product from roots to ends, leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse. Style as usual.

for lightening the other elumen colors
I love Elumen VV@all (purple), but the color turns out way too dark. my hairdresser suggested I try cutting it with shampoo or conditioner, which did make it turn out lighter but also brought out strong pink tones and caused the dye to fade way too fast. I realized I was using the wrong materials for the job and probably messing up the chemical balance. mixing it with Elumen clear worked to achieve a much lighter shade of purple, and it seems to be holding up to shampoos way better.

If you miss the gloss from getting your hair dyed - this will do the trick
A few years ago I decided to stop dyeing my hair and give into the grey. I coped with the grey, but really missed the glossy shine from the hair dye. I went on a hunt for something clear and found this. I have super thick hair that goes a few inches past my shoulders. I can get about 4 uses out of one bottle. I shower and shampoo and try to use as little of conditioner as possible. Get out and comb my hair out and then proceed to work several tablespoons of this stuff into my hair from root to tip. I recommend dividing into 4 parts and using gloves so you don't have the product on your bare hands at all. Then I just pull the whole mess up with a hair clip and let it sit in there for 30-45 minutes. The longer the better. Then rinse and shampoo/condition as normal. This gives me great shine for about 2-3 weeks, but it does wear out. I wish it lasted longer, but it doesn't for me. Overall though, it does give me the shine that I was missing.

Love this!
I use this 2-3 weeks after highlights and it keeps the highlights and style control "fresh" for much longer than without it.
