Does the radio get good reception

I didn't use the radio part- but the cd player skipped a lot at first use and the sound quality was poor. So I am actually retiring it.

Can I add an extra speaker using the Aux-in plug in the back ?

No, the Aux-in power is not an output, only an input for connecting things like the headphone jack of an iPod to play over the player’s speaker.

Will any c size batteries work?

Yes any C batteries will work and it also has a USB cord or electric plug in.
