Super simple to use and really effective.
Super simple to use and really effective.Since the early 90's I have always carried some form of water purification when travelling. This stems from nearly dying of Amoebic Dysentery in India. Not long after that adventure I found myself responsible for 18 travellers and myself as I would tour around Lake Victoria in Africa. The prolific waterborne parasites and diseases where a constant reminder of how dangerous contaminated water can be. Every year it kills millions of people and yet so many don't have the means to safely purify water. Let alone access to clean drinking water.I remember some travel guides used to warn against drinking bottled water as it was so easy to 'fake' so I'd carry purifying tablets, iodine drops and a ceramic filter. Hard to calculate dose, tasted disgusting and easily broke. In that order. If only things were as simple as what I've seen from Lifesaver Systems. All i had to do was prime it and i was ready to go. The optional carbon filter is handy for removing tastes and some nitrates and chemicals but it is the main filter that's the main powerhouse. It's a little bulkier than my normal water bottle but this is a water container and filtration system all in one. And no ordinary filtration system at that. The nanotechnology it incorporates ensures that the holes in the membrane are too small to let bacteria or even viruses through.Love it. I can't see how anything else can come close to the mark.

Tested Bottle with TDS monitor. It adds something to the water - what does it add?
I would say Just OK. If you were in the middle of a dirty jungle it will be better than nothing. Although large, consider that the size is a little smaller than those 1L mineral bottles that you get in the supermarket.Second I done a test and sent out an email to the manufacturer and they have not replied. Hence another reason for 3 stars. Here is the email:Hi, I have recently bought the lifesaver bottle and followed the instructions to prime it. I have run some tests with distilled water and have some questions. The test I did was :- 1. Use a good TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) monitor to find the PPM (Parts Per Million) in the distilled water. the reading was 1PPM. 2. Run the distilled water through the bottle and the output read around 60 PPM. I am about to leave an amazon review and would like to leave as honest one as possible. Can you please tell me what the bottle is adding to the water please. The bottle is adding something to the water and I don't know what it is. I need to know what is going into my body.EDIT1: After leaving it open for a week I redid the test and it dropped to 9PPM. I have no doubts that the initial test was accurate. However that is still an increase of +8PPM. Tested without Charcoal.

Exploded!
Terrible device - heavy, difficult to use and makes a trickle of water.Mine actually exploded into bit after I pumped it up to try and get a decent amount of water out if it - now completely unusable.Back to the drawing board please - this is useless.

lifesaver bottle
good product in as much as it dose what it says and the water tastes great but i think its a little big in size for putting in your backpack and it dident come with a carry case , it do-sent hold a great deal of water due to the filter taking up all the internal space , the blue sponge in the bottom filter isn't good or fast at filtering water pored into it i found the water had to be very slowly pored or else it flowed off the sponge onto the ground and once you had pulled out the base to fill with water it left the center of the sponge misshapen with a hole in the middle that the dirty water then pored into . care must be taken when pumping to pressurize it as the top pops off and you get a jet of water before you are ready for it . i also must add that on watching videos of people opening the base and collecting water by filling it as if it was a bottle you run the risk of germs getting onto the part you drink out of by water running down to the drinking end which would defeat the whole point of this product .
