The essential guide for buildings lovers.
Splendid update of Pevsner. I have found so far accurate descriptions of buildings, their history, place in the landscape and their designers. Any tour of the towns with tours included will enhance the visit. But the immense amount of information now included has its price: the books are big and heavy. Pevsner was a genuine pocket book..

Excellent. I have borrowed it more than once from the local library, but I needed it on my shelf for constant reference. It is a bit big and heavy to carry about outside, but you can't have everthing, so read it before you go or when you come home.

Pevsner again
This is a most useful book as a re-organised and expansion of two or more other books. There are lots of extra entries and many expanded one. It is a bit large to carry in a back pack but fine for the bookshelf or car. Highly recommended.
