Caron Cakes- 200g- Blueberry Muffin

I made a scarf very pleasant to work with.

I enjoy using the Caron Cakes. They make great projects.

When I first saw the Caron Cake yarns, I fell in love with them. The colors were great, blended beautifully. It set me to start making six blankets for Christmas, six grandkids. Three of the blankets are made with double yarn, using the variegated Caron yarn along with a solid Heart color. The three others were just the Caron yarn. The three Caron Cake blankets are my smaller blankets for the baby and toddlers. The issue that I kept running into was that the yarn would be tied together in several places throughout the skein. In a few of the skeins it was what I would think of as normal. Perhaps two or three times if necessary. However I found that several of the skeins were tied together seven or eight times. Some knots were very close together. I am not a fan of having to hide, or trying to hide, a bunch of knots in my blankets. When you work so hard on something for someone you love, you want it to be beautiful. Overall, I love the yarn, it was easy to work with (when my puppy didn’t get ahold of the skein!), and the finished result is beautiful.

This has a lot of dark blue . Pictures do not reflect this.

Color was differet...white was grey etc. gave it away as all colors were off.

I made 3 mermaid blankets using the same pattern. For all 3 I used the same size hook and Caron Cakes 7.1 oz skeins, just different colors. The first 2 mermaid blankets used almost four 7.1 oz skeins, as I had calculated based on the pattern instructions. The third one used almost 6 skeins! Was surprised to have to buy a 5th skein and even more surprised to have to buy a 6th skein. Compared the blankets to see if my crocheting was looser for the third one... they are identical. Just different colors.

Love the yarn. Ordered 6 rolls, from one site. It came in three different packages. Wasteful.
