Works great, so far….’06 Silverado
Just installed on my 2006 Silverado hunting truck. So far so good…seems to be working great. Some reviews say the bolt that comes with it isn’t long enough to fit in the battery terminal….without the thick washer, it fits in my DieHard battery just fine.I rarely use this truck in the spring and summer, so it’ll be nice not to have to jump it every time I do need it.I’ll be sure to edit this review, if I have any problems, but as for now, I am pleased.

Works Great
This Wirthco Knife switch was just what I was looking for. I have a 95 Chevy Tahoe that sometimes doesn't get driven frequently enough to keep the battery up (I believe it also has a small draw that I can't find). I mounted this on the battery (GM style) and now when I am done driving it for a while, all I have to do is pop the hood, flip the knife switch, and the battery will still be charged up when I go to drive it a month later. Seems to be high quality and built to last. Good product.

Will work under moderate loads, once you find proper replacement bolts.
Takes an hour to install, not including trip to store for different bolts, as others have said. Need a 3/4" long half inch bolt to screw into battery, not the 5/8" long one that they send. How much would it really cost for manufacturer to send the right length bolt? Then, on my Silverado, the bolt that came with the battery cable was not threaded to bottom. So I had to buy a new battery bolt to attach the cable to the new switch, as would not tighten fully otherwise. On the upside, the tension on the pop rivet was perfect, not too tight as others found, so the switch moves with the perfect amount of force. But, be careful not to break the black plastic backbone of switch when tightening cable. Brass in terminals is nice and heavy. Rest of current carrying parts appear to be real copper and brass. I don't have this truck in a real cold climate. Otherwise, I would be worried if switch blade is heavy enough to carry full cold cranking amps. Otherwise, this is most convenient solution for putting a switch on a side-post battery.

Excellent product. Positive connect and disconnect
Excellent product. Positive connect and disconnect. There is enough friction between lever and wings that it will not vibrate out while driving. Can be somewhat difficult to connect to battery depending on battery location in your vehicle, but well worth the effort. I had to fully disconnect battery and pull it part way out and connected to ground side of battery, then placed battery back into place and reattach positive side.Unlike other top screw knob type this provides a positive disconnect and connect. The screw nob type sometimes wasn't completely disconnected or while driving would lose contact with battery and battery wouldn't charge completely.

Works like a champ
Works great after a couple of simple changes.1. A couple of screws allowed me to swap the posts. I did this because one is threaded, and the other is slick. I needed to swap them due to the layout of my battery & cables.2. I bought a slightly longer bolt because the one that came with it wouldn't quite work.I put this disconnect on the + terminal. Now a vehicle that always went dead after a few days of sitting idle fires right up once I flip the disconnect.

DO NOT buy this product if you have an older GM vehicle with side-post battery (yes they are a b****)
If you own an older GM vehicle with side-post battery Do Not Buy this piece of cr*p (or any similar product, they all look the same). I guarantee that the person who designed this item has never once tried to install it on an older GM vehicle. There is no space to get the thing in and get the nuts on properly. The instructions/diagram shipped with the thing were useless. After a period of trial and error eventually I lost one of the nuts and the corresponding washer down the innards of my vehicle. So after 45 minutes of sweaty, wasted effort, back to where I started from which is disconnecting the battery manually every time I (frequently) travel. This is the second time in a couple years I have tried to put on of these things (not sure if same maker) on. They just aren't designed to make installation possible on older vehicles like mine where there is very little clearance. But seriously, how difficult can it be to design something that can actually be installed??

Didn't fit
Did not fit my Jeep Grand Cherokee battery. It seems this would only work on a small atv or dirt bike size battery. Not what I was expecting.

With a little modifications its great
I would really give it 3 1/2 stars if I could. Good: Item is very heavy duty and functions great for a manual battery cut off switch. Bad: Instructions are horrendus. I figured it out by looking at the picture. Threaded side connects to the existing battery terminal and new bolt with sleeve side connects to the battery. Connection from terminal to new bolt connection side needed some slight modifications to make my existing GM battery terminal bolt work. The supplied bolt with supplied washer was to short to attached to the battery post. I simply removed the washer, and the bolt was able to work. If the manuf. would add good instructions and some slight manuf. adjustments with a longer bolt I would give it 5 stars.
