I rated this a two star on ease of use as the battery installation is NOT included in the instructions. It's actually very easy, but why would you leave this out of the instructions. ??? To install batteries, leave the probe covers in place and then peel the outer soft colored boot away from the meter starting at the bottom of the meter and pulling the top of the meter out thru the boot open front. (downward and then up thru the opening in the boot that allows the display panel to be observed.) once have the soft boot removed then, the battery compartment is visible on the back of the meter and the battery cover easily is removed by hand , no tools required.

The information on how to read the parameters was trying.

I couldn't get the meter to register accurate measurements on any setting. It was all over the place between 4% and 30%. I tried using a friends meter and it worked fine. Returned to seller.

Aunque a veces se puede observar la humedad a simple vista, en ocasiones no te das cuenta del nivel de humedad que tiene la pared. No conocía este tipo de dispositivo, el higrómetro. Esperaba poder obtener una idea y que me ayudara a tomar decisiones relacionadas con la humedad en casa, y eso es exactamente lo que ha hecho.Es muy fácil de usar y, aunque en el título menciona "madera", no se limita únicamente a la madera. Se puede utilizar en casi cualquier superficie. En el video que hice, medí la pared del baño que presenta signos de humedad. Se puede apreciar fácilmente cómo mide la humedad de manera precisa. Creo que es muy preciso.Lo considero de calidad y estuve a punto de medir toda la casa. Seguramente me será muy útil este otoño/invierno.

Medidor de la concentración de humedad en superficie, muy fácil de usar, lo hemos probado sobre las cuatros materiales que tiene calibrado y comparado con un medidor profesional de la marca Stanley el resultado es muy preciso.Se entrega con una pila de 9V y una práctica funda.Simplemente hay que encenderlo, seleccionar el tipo de superficie que vamos a medir con el botón “MODE” y apoyar la pletina trasera sobre ella.La medición es relativamente rápida, aunque debemos esperar unos segundos para que estabilice.Precisión milimétrica comparado con medidor profesional.Una ventaja es la pantalla con retro-iluminación, bastante potente, permite visualizar los número con total comodidad, tanto en ambientes oscuros cuanto bajo la luz del sol.Ya hemos probado en otras ocasiones productos de medición de esta marca, y el resultado es evidentemente bueno, material exterior aceptable para uso en obra y mediciones aceptables incluso en ambiente profesional. Utilisation facile et précis !

It's slightly bulkier than other humidity tester I had from Lidl however it seems to be a bit more accurate and also surprisingly good on walls .

I am using the meter for Douglas fir firewood. To check the accuracy, I slowly baked the water out of a 6" long piece of 2" diameter of a small living Douglas fir tree using a toaster oven. Every 20 minutes I would remove the wood and let it cool to room temperature then measure the weight and take 4 meter readings (by pushing the probes well through the thin bark) along the length of the wood. I repeated drying and measures until there was no further change in the weight. At the end, I calculated the "living" water content/capacity and from that value, the "percent of capacity" and the average meter reading for each time interval. I was surprised how closely the meter matched the calculated values within a measure of 2-3%.
