We had a Japanese exchange student stay with us when I was in high school. She used to packages sent from home. We got to try Japanese candy and treats. This candy brings back those memories for me. The candy is wonderful!

My grandson loves this

This package is a great deal for a variety of different types of candies all in one package. While the listing advertises the package as having 50 candies, I had a few over to make it 53! I appreciated the bonus candies. It will come exactly as you see in perfect condition as shown in the listing image. Like a previous reviewer I used google lens to help try to understand what each was, which I highly recommend doing if you want to know what flavor each candy is before eating it (if possible in future iterations of this item a list of candy names were to be included I think this would be great for more ease in finding favorites again for future repurchase, which was another sentiment I shared with the previous reviewer). I'm only about five in to the package so far, but I already found a new favorite candy which was a matcha flavored one - it was absolutely delicious. I did also recognize hi-chews in the package. It could have just been me, but I feel like the Japanese version had a chewier texture which was really interesting! If you're looking for something new and unique this is a great product as I feel strongly that there is something for everyone in here especially considering I'm not a fan of a lot of American hard candies and have had such a good and fun experience so far. Excellent assortment bag.

Great variety but their was enough duplicates to share

This is a great assortment of little Japanese penny candies. I received 50 different unique types, and four duplicates for a total of 54 pieces. I know the selection changes because of season or availability, but I do wish there was a product sheet included just so if we find ones we really like, we would know how to find them again in the future. there are several different types of candy included, most of them are hard candies but the few of them are taffy type chews and a couple of them are compressed powder type candies (like smarties). One other small thing I do wish the bag was resealable, I will need to transfer these into a Ziploc or a bowl for storage. It is a bit expensive for the amount you get, but you really wouldn't be able to find this variety easily in most USA locations, so you are definitely paying a little bit of the premium for the convenience. Overall happy with this purchase, and looking forward to trying all of the different varieties included.

High Chews are my favorite fruity candy. I was very pleasantly surprised that they were included in the hard candy mix! I received an apple and a grape. I have purchased many different international food and candy mixes before, and a lot of these candies are brand new to me. My biggest complaint is that there is no packing list... I am really enjoying most of these candies, but I have zero clue what they are. I have been looking up the wrappers on Google Lens and I cannot find them by picture or translation. 99% of the candies have only Japanese on the wrapper. The only reason I could ID the High Chews is because I have had them before, so I know the texture and the brand logo is the same as in the US.

This is a very fun bag full of unique candies. Candy types The great majority of them are hard candies however there are some Taffies as well. There are unique flavors like red bean, coffee, lychee, and other flavors you simply don't see very often in American candy. Candy quantity You get 50 pieces and I think for the current price (which is under $15) that is a very reasonable deal. Variety of candies There was an excellent variety. I would say we got to try at least 30 to 40 different candies. Very few repeats. If you are interested in Japanese snacks or know someone who is you cannot go wrong with this. It would make a fun gift and would also make you the hit of Halloween.

So far, these are delightful! This sampler pack contains a wide variety of Japanese candy, with only a few repeats of the same item. My husband and I like to have small pieces of candy on hand as a little treat after lunch, and these are providing us with sweet little snacks, as well as a fun game of 'guess the flavor'. I can only read a little Japanese, but it's also good practice seeing how much I can decipher on each packet. My favorite so far was a hard lemon-flavored drop that had a fizzy quality. My husband really liked the cherry chews. Between us, we've only eaten half a dozen so far, but every one has been good. We look forward to trying the rest! (And even if a few are not to our taste, the adventure is half the fun.)
