Q: I’m not seeing the caffeine content per serving. Anyone know the answer?

Hey Shannon, thanks for your question! :) The specification for the organic instant coffee used in our Mushroom Coffee is no less than 5% caffeine. Each serving contains 3.15 grams of instant coffee, and so caffeine content should be at least 157.5 mg per serving (as a naturally-occurring component, the caffeine level may vary somewhat from batch to batch). For perspective, Starbucks' website lists an approximate value of 310 mg of caffeine for a Grande (16 oz) medium roast hot coffee. Hi Ethan, thanks for your question! :) For thousands of years, people have been consuming various medicinal plants, fungi, etc., to help manage their health. Over time, it became understood that there were compounds within those species that were primarily responsible for their benefits, while components such as water, cellulose, etc., were simply providing additional bulk instead of nutritional benefits. Botanical extracts were developed in order to concentrate the desirable beneficial compounds as a convenience to consumers. Plant to Extract ratios are ratios of the quantity of botanical biomass used in the manufacture of an extract to the quantity of extract obtained. So, if it takes 2,000 kgs of botanical biomass to make 100 kgs of a particular extract, then the extract ratio is 20:1. As such, the benefits associated with those 100 kgs of extract are equivalent to the nutritional value of the full 2,000 kgs of starting biomass. Correspondingly, if a serving of this particular extract is 500 mg, then the equivalent amount of biomass from which nutrients are obtained would be 10,000 mg (500 mg @ 20:1). Toniiq’s Mushroom Coffee contains 350 mg per serving of our 10-mushroom extract blend, and each of the extracts used in the blend are 10:1 ratio extracts. As such, each serving contains the equivalent nutritional benefits of 3,500 mg of the mushroom biomass used to make the extracts.
