I truly don't understand why these filters don't have a much better rating. I read the reviews and they weren't glowing but another reviewer posted and found the same thing I did. Their great!! And the complaints I did see about the charcoal filter.. mine were full and secure. No scent either, no noise, works great, easy to change, fits perfectly IF you are using the correct model number and not trying to stuff it into something it wasn't meant for. Can't beat the price. Get these.. you won't be sorry.

While I can't compare the construction materials directly, to the eye these are identical to the originals. The fit is precise. The unit functions normally. I'm happy with them.

This replacement was the perfect replacement for my air purifier, its light, is a good the exact size and lasts quite a long time in between changes. I found it A good value for the money and the noise level does not bother me at all. Cleaning is easy, the outer filter can rinsed or vacuumed, the next level ( charcoal ) can be rinsed ut needs to be done less frequently. Very Satisfied with this purchase.

Works well as a filter, measure your old filter before you buy these, though. Despite the description it does NOT fit a Winix 5510 model (which gets wrapped in with the 5500-2). 5510 takes 12.9"x11" filters, these are too large for it. Took a star because it was so frustrating searching 5510 and every filter that came up basically synonymized the models and said it would fit it because the 5510 is the "updated" version of the 5500-2.
