Bought it as a gift. The child loved it

I was searching for a gift for my 6 year old grandson that would be fun and have some educational value. I have to admit that the advertisement for this had so many features that I was quite dubious of how all of that could be incorporated at a price point under $40. I was pleasantly surprised. I checked all of the features which turned out to be mostly positive assessments with only a few negatives.The toy comes well packed to prevent damage during shipment -- always a good sign. The robot has a rechargeable battery that requires about an hour to top off. The hand-held remote controller takes 2 AA batteries. The company even provides a small Phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment. All good so far.The first negative is with the instructions, written in five languages, since it is marketed globally. It is written sequentially, so each instruction in a paragraph or two, is repeated four additional times. This can be a bit daunting at first but after spending a half hour going through the document, it got easier. I think I'll condense the 28-page instruction manual down to about 4 pages for my grandson. Once it is set up and a kid starts experimenting with the keys on the controller, they will figure out how to use all of the various commands quite quickly without need to consult the instruction manual.When you press the power button the robot comes to life, moving, talking and dancing. It is quite fun to watch. The audio volume can be controlled, but the voice quality is a bit muffled and sometimes difficult to understand. Even with this negative, I still gave it 4 stars because it is so entertaining. All of the commands (22) on the remote functioned as advertised and again was impressive with regard to the breadth of choices. There is one educational button that enunciates science/geography facts. Another has the "abc song" to learn the letters of the English alphabet.The gesture function, putting the robot in standby mode and using your hands to control its movement, worked pretty well. The robot works best on either hard floor or carpet but sometimes cannot make the transition from one to the other. My final slight concern is how the robot will hold up after getting tossed down the stairs a few times or falling off of the table; however, you can't expect to have a toy built like a tank for this price point. I think it will hold up quite well with reasonable care.

This is a really fun toy for the kids! It's not too big, and easily handled by smaller kids hands. The build quality appears to be quite nice, and the little robot is rather cute. My kids have had hours of fun with this toy!

I recently purchased this programmable robot for my 8-year-old, and it's been a hit from day one. The simplicity of coding commands through a user-friendly interface has made learning programming concepts a breeze for my child. They get to figure out the concept of using this button does this but if you push this one then this other button it will do this.There are so many combinations and so many moves the robot can do I don't think we have yet to figure out all the things it can do.The robot's versatility in executing various commands, from basic movements to more complex tasks, has kept my child engaged and excited to experiment with new coding challenges. Watching my kid’s creativity flourish as they program this little robot has been an absolute joy.The provided instructional materials and online resources have been incredibly helpful, guiding my child through the learning process. Moreover, the interactive nature of this robot fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a way that's both enjoyable and educational for my kids.In summary, this programmable robot is a fantastic educational tool that nurtures creativity, logical thinking, and computer programming skills in children.
