Q: Will this work through drywall?

I just tried a few walls near light switches where I knew there was elec wires with switches on. The meter would register about "1 line high" near the wires BUT it would also cause the meter to blink the same on places on the wall where there was absolutely no elec wires! I did the test both using the regular setting and also the Supper Sensitive setting. So MAYBE it MIGHT give you some idea where the wires are, but doubtful since there are to many false readings to be sure. That said, this meter works great if you are taking readings without sheetrock blocking it.

Q: would you recommend this over other models and why? what do you NOT like about it? how accurate is it?

I like that it is louder than others, equally easy to use, and the price was good

I believe a wire that goes from my speaker passenger side rear door is dead, would I be able to use this to test the wire to see if there's power?

Do i manually switch from "lo" to "hi"? pressing the green "sensitivity" button on mine does not switch to "hi".
