These are perfect! I love that they are a healthy protein shake and they have caffeine. Doesn’t cause my stomach to be upset. So convenient to grab in the morning on the way out the door or for an afternoon snack. They are a little pricey but so worth it. Have them on auto ship.

I really love these protein shakes. I have only tried the mocha so far, but they taste great! I think the protein content is good, but I always love more. I was surprised at the price of these because I thought buying in "bulk" would have been cheaper but it's more expensive online. I buy 4 packs from Walmart because they are more affordable. I also like the bottles from Walmart better because they aren't plastic.

I love these. I enjoy coffee so I’d mix OWYN with cold brew and this saves me a step. I’m a breastfeeding mom so I want a clean, quick breakfast with protein and the caffeine is also needed for a new mom! I pour over ice and pair it with a hard boiled egg or banana and it keeps me satisfied until lunch. I’ve tried chocolate and caramel and they’re both great. A little bitter but, I don’t mind because I like the taste of coffee. If you don’t enjoy a stronger coffee taste, you may want to pass on these.

Only giving 3 stars because it needs more coffee flavor, otherwise fine. Regular drinker of the OWYN meal replacement shakes, and decided to try the coffee versions. Pros- Even better texture than the meal replacement shakes. Not as thick and actually like drinking a bottle of Starbucks mocha as far as consistency, which I liked. Flavor is good, not strong enough on the coffee however. ( in fairness, most bottled mochas are too mild imo. ) Mocha is my favorite, Carmel and vanilla are fine. Caffeine is a nice amount. Most likely will not order again but would just add an espresso shot to my chocolate meal replacement shakes instead. Would recommend to someone who enjoys a milder coffee flavor and wants the protein and other benefits of the OWYN shakes.

Please be aware that there are multiple class action lawsuits against this company. They refer their brand as ONLY WHAT YOU NEED. Really? Do we need lead? I’ve consumed hundreds of shakes prior to my surgery. I’m going to go get tested and if it’s positive I feel bad for the company. I am writing a review and warning regarding products sold under the OWYN (“Only What You Need”) brand. I tried the protein powders and shakes expecting clean, plant-based nutrition. Instead, multiple Consumer Reports investigations and ongoing legal actions show lead contamination at levels of concern in the category, and OWYN products are explicitly part of that set. In a 2025 Consumer Reports heavy metal test of 23 protein powders and shakes, plant-based products tended to have higher lead content, and OWYN was included in that group — even if your particular result was interpreted by some secondary sources as lower within the set, the overarching issue remains that heavy metals are present in these products. There are real health implications here. Lead is a cumulative toxin with no safe level of exposure, particularly with daily use. It is linked to neurological, cardiovascular, kidney, and reproductive harm with repeated ingestion over time. Consumer Reports emphasizes that repeated exposure, especially in sensitive populations, is concerning even at small per-serving amounts. Most consumers buy protein supplements expecting a nutrition product, not a source of heavy metals. Yet OWYN products have been the subject of class action litigation alleging undisclosed lead levels exceeding California safety limits in your Chocolate Plant Protein Powder. Plaintiffs in that case allege the packaging and marketing misled buyers about safety and ingredient quality. (Barton v. Only What You Need, Inc., 2025). OWYN also faced a California Proposition 65 enforcement action in 2020 for lead and cadmium in some products, resolved through a settlement in 2021 requiring civil penalties and corrective actions. Consumers deserve full transparency. Your brand name promises “Only What You Need,” yet heavy metals like lead and cadmium are neither necessary nor safe in a nutrition product. Rather than quietly tolerating these contaminants, the industry including OWYN should require rigorous heavy-metal mitigation steps, such as stricter raw material sourcing and certified purification processes, so add-in nutrients don’t come wrapped in toxic waste byproducts. This is already technologically possible but not widely done because of cost and lax category-specific regulation.

I really love the OWYN Doubleshot Dairy Free Keto Protein Coffee Shake. It tastes great, it’s smooth, and it gives me the perfect mix of protein and caffeine to start my morning. This is also a great alternative due to my allergy to whey protein, so finding something that’s dairy-free and still high in quality has been a huge win for me. It’s easy on my stomach and super convenient on busy days. The only downside and the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the price keeps creeping up. I used to buy these all the time, but it’s getting harder to justify the cost as it continues to increase. Overall, it’s a fantastic product and one of my favorites. I just hope the price becomes more stable again or more included in the case for the price.

Delicious! They cost about the same as any other premixed protein drink and take like they're supposed to (whatever the label states). I am used to pea-protein so I don't notice that in the flavor. I also drink them cold. Smooth, limited sugar, good value
