Compared to striped sunflower seeds, black oil seeds contain a kernal that has a higher oil content, giving birds more nutrition and calories in every bite. Black oil seeds also have thinner shells, making them easier for small birds to crack open. They will attract lots of wild Garden Birds and they are particularly enjoyed by chaffinches, greenfinches, sparrows and tits. Feed all year from a hanging feeder, bird table or even on the ground.
