Great little teapot
Great little teapot, have been using it regularly for 5 months now and it still looks good as new. Enjoyable to use, easy to clean, but as with all cast ironware you do have to make sure you take care of it and dry it thoroughly. It's advertised as 300ml which is accurate for total capacity but bear in mind that by the time you've put some tea in there (and the volume of tea you put in will depend on the type of tea and how strong you like it) you're going to be getting closer to 250ml, maybe 270ml and obviously (depending on the type of tea again) you're going to get some liquid retained in the tea leaves when you pour it so if you like a big cup then you may wish to go for the next size up.As with all cast ironware heat retention is very good, but for a quality brew you do have to make sure you properly pre-heat the teapot before brewing. This means that the temperature is going to be more even for the duration of your brewing and if you choose to leave some of the tea in the pot it's going to stay at a decent temperature for a good while longer than an equivalent porcelain teapot. The stainless steel basket is very practical, great to be able to remove the tea leaves after brewing without having to pour out all the tea so you can stop your tea from stewing but leave the tea in the pot where (as previously mentioned) it's going to stay at a decent temperature for a good while. Having said that if you're really going for it you may wish to forgo the basket and put the leaves straight in the pot as they're going to have more space to move around, expand and extract. This is especially true for rolled teas such as oolong and jasmine that unfurl and expand during the brewing process. In this case the basket comes in handy as a strainer. The rope on the handle provides some good thermal insulation - and aesthetically it finishes off the teapot and makes it look the part! It's also still completely intact on my teapot after regular use for the last 5 months which I'm happy about as I thought that would probably be the first part to break. Also the handle for the teapot lid is plastic (which may not be abundantly clear from the photos) and it does a good job of not burning your fingers when you remove the lid. If having plastic on your cast iron teapot offends you, it can be unscrewed and removed - but your life will be more awkward as a result! It pours well and is a joy to use. Gives a good quality brew, although obviously the resulting brew is only going to be as good at the tea leaves you put in. It's not going to make your cheap supermarket brew suddenly taste amazing, but at least your tea setup will look the part! It's easy to clean and when it's not in use it looks great on the shelf - feels like it'll be delivering tasty brews for many years to come.

Holds the heat well and can burn
Lovely little tea kettle, pours the roght amount of tea for one. Does keep a hot temperature which is good for the tea but can burn when you touch the outside of the pot.

Quality piece
It's cast iron so you will need to care for it properly. Plenty of vids on YouTube for that. Beyond that it's awesome. Perfect for lovers of loose leaf and anyone struggling to get iron in their diet.

Cooles Teil!

Teiera in ghisa
