Ditch the magnet piece and it works PERFECTLY!
SO GLAD I upgraded to this litter pan. I've owned the Petsafe self-cleaning litter boxes for over 2 years now. I originally purchased one because I had a cat who would pee on the bed instead of use the litter box primarily because he wanted it scooped right away. I was aware of that issue prior to bringing him into my home so I always had the bed protected with washable pee pads and plastic sheeting just in case. After purchasing the self-cleaning litter box, he stopped peeing on the bed. So, since we have 3 cats in the house, I bought a couple more when I would see them for sale on the marketplace. I was using the cardboard boxes 3 months in a row (emptying them and adding new litter every other week), but between the cost for the bags of litter plus the boxes, it was becoming a little expensive. I decided to try this tray after reading mostly great reviews. I was aware of the issue with the magnetic strip thanks to reading the reviews, so I played around with that trying to get it to work (placing it in two different directions, but each time the machine would clean it would pop off and the front lid would fall off as well or hang up in the air. I finally dispensed with the magnetic strip altogether and just used the pan without it. Today I changed the litter and let me tell you, IT WAS A BREEZE!!! It poured into the trash much easier than with the cardboard boxes. There was no "flap" to hang up on the trash can or spill litter out onto the floor when emptying it into the trash can, and there was relatively little litter stuck to the tray. I was able to easily wipe that off with the litter scoop. Best of all, no odor from urine spots in the tray. There were some residual urine streaks on the pan so I took it outside and rinsed it off, dried it, and brought it back inside. Normally when I switch out two litter boxes it takes me 20+ minutes because of the "clean up" due to spilled litter, getting the box angled into the trash can just so in order not to dump the contents everywhere, and then gently pulling it back out of the trash can so as not to throw any poo or litter back OUT of the trash can. I then have to carefully situate the litter pan back under the litter box, pop the lid back on, verify it reattaches to the magnets and then add more litter. Today it took me half the time with one cardboard box and this stainless steel litter pan. I will now be ordering TWO MORE of the Petsafe stainless steel reusable pans for the other two self-cleaning litter boxes. They make it so much easier to change the litter. I think once I have 3 of them I can change all three in the time it used to take me to change just one. I still have an issue with cats scattering litter everywhere when they jump out (and they are not fond of the hoods) so I'm working on a fix for that as well. I have the litter pads with the pockets all around them, but I'm going to get some screens as well to put up on three sides of the boxes so that they only have the front and one interior side to jump out of and then we can keep the rest of the area neat and litter-free. Plus it will shield the litter boxes from view from the living room, kitchen, and the patio. With regard to these stainless steel litter pans, if you have been on the fence about getting them - you should definitely do it. They are so much easier to clean and it is so much cheaper in the long run. Also, it cuts down dramatically on smells since the urine doesn't soak into cardboard. As long as you don't even bother with the magnetic strip thing you will have no issues whatsoever. You will be happier and the cats will be happier since they won't be able to smell urine either.

Pays for itself over time!
This is to review the stainless steel litter tray by G&S Suppliers Inc. The tray fits and works as intended. It is not too difficult to clean, however it is more difficult to empty than just closing a box and throwing it out. So far it has fit properly and allowed the scoop free litter box to operate properly. With this litter box I have used Vibrant Life Unscented mini crystals (4 lbs per change). These crystals are significantly cheaper than scoop free crystals. Given the price point I will have started saving money on litter changes after the 6th litter change. Each change with the more cost effective litter will run 6.50. ( Vibrant Life ) Scoop free would run 12.50 each, 25 for 2 Scoop free single use box costs 22.00 As you can see by the numbers, comparing to the intended crystals, this product will pay for itself within 6 litter changes. If compared to the single use box it will pay for itself within 3 changes. This box will require a little more effort than just throwing one away. The effort is still minimal and only needs done 2 times a month under my conditions of a single cat. Over all a very good product that works as intended and over time saves money.

Stainless steel tray
I have use the PetSafe automatic litter system since there were disposable trays. The plastic tray worked well, but did stain and hold odor. I am pleased the option of a stainless steel tray is available. The cats did not notice a difference, but I do. It is much easier to clean and does not stain or hold odors.

Only Slightly Better - UPDATED
I very much like the PetSafe automatic cat litter box itself, but purchasing replacement cardboard liners every month seemed so wasteful. So I invested in this reusable stainless steel litter tray, but it could use some serious work. The area that the scooping arm pushes the feces into is ridiculously narrow. After a few days, there's no room for more, so the arm just leaves it in the litterbox outside of the waste collection area where my cat just kicks it like a mad woman when she's doing her thing. So I have to scoop regularly even though the selling point for me was that it would last 30 days for one cat before having to be changed. Unfortunately, I have two of these litter boxes and have purchased the steel trays for both. UPDATE: The seller noticed my review and reached out to see if I wanted a refund. Impressed with their level of care and concern which made me rethink my review. While the collection area could and should be larger, this tray is still enormously better than purchasing the cardboard trays every few weeks and having to recycle them. I have made friends with the knowledge that I still have to scoop my cat's litter tray every few days but would still purchase new stainless trays if they had larger collection areas. Highly recommend this seller and have raised my stars from two to four. Kudos to her!1

Much better!
We have a 17 year old cat that has difficultly with regular litter boxes so we bought a PetSafe self emptying box over a year ago. The cardboard disposable are just way too expensive so we used the plastic trays which I've replaced twice in the past and it was time to replace again when I saw this one. I'm very happy I got this! This tray fits perfectly, no assembly required, and I've had no problem with the magnetic strip coming off like others stated in their reviews. The plastic ones stain so easily and over time, they have to be soaked to get the smell out or sanitized. I have none of those issues with this stainless steel tray. It's easy to clean, disinfect, and doesn't trap in odors. There is a slight discoloration after a while of use but I believe that's because my poor old Baxter has a high uric acid so it's too be an expected result on stainless steel. I wish the price would come down a little so I could get a couple more but compared to the cardboard, it's much cheaper.

Perfect for the pet safe automatic litter box!
I finally broke down and bought the stainless steel reusable tray after trying to make the most of the disposable trays. I am really happy I made this purchase as it is cost saving. I also find it a little more sanitary than what I was doing which was reusing the disposable trays with the trash bag and cardboard inserts. They also work with this tray as well so all I have to do is pull out the bag and toss and put in another insert. I wasn’t sure how the smell would be considering the part that closes was just going to use a magnetic piece but I find it works better than using the disposable trays. The magnetic piece has a strong hold and haven’t had an issue. I wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to by. It’s easy to use, it keeps down the smell and for 1 cat its the perfect depth. Thank you for making a great product and sorry I waited so long to write a review but I wanted to ensure I was giving my best opinion. If you’re on the fence about this product just do it!

Great Tray
I was tired of the cardboard litter trays that leaked and fell apart. They were also expensive. This was perfect, is easy to clean, and doesn’t seem to smell as much as the cardboard ones. We use a different litter with it and it doesn’t work as well (I like the crystals better) but it still does the job. Highly recommend this tray!

Saved on Money
It was okay. Didn't want to buy the cardboard boxes twice a month which was quite pricy. There hasn't been any leekage, but I feel it could still have been deeper or have a wider compartment to store the feces. The part that attaches via magnets to the machine kept falling off so I don't use it anymore. Cost effective but could have improvements.
