Very quiet unit
This unit is very quiet, and it works well. But I will say I would not put this in my plants of any kind. My reasoning is that this dehydrates, and it really does not grind. If you think about it, the unit can compose the items great. But when you go to put this in your plants it will rehydrate and mildew your soil, and it will have a smell. I tried it. It does not work well. It's great to have a carbon footprint. I usually just throw it in the trash, and it will not smell after completion. I would recommend it but just be warned that it not a real composted to fertilize your soil.

Cool product
Bought for my wife for Christmas and used it for the first time 3 days ago. I was kind of skeptical that it would work as good as they claimed, but they aren't kidding. I filled the inner bucket to the fill line and let it go. Although it took many hours to complete the process I let it go overnight and checked it the next morning. Much to my surprise all the garage was gone except for about 2 cups of ground and dry mulch. The mulch resembled course ground coffee. They say about 90% reduction and I have to agree. Amazing new product that my wife will use regularly to feed her gardens.

Good value and functional!
The one thing I don’t like is noise level and slight odor as it is running. Continuous use makes it harder to clean. Otherwise it does what it should do.

DO NOT PURCHASE
Purchased this as a gift for spouse. We saved all our materials to compost. Put them in and turned it on and it immediately stopped working and showed an H. There was no H in the booklet so googled and it had overheated so we unplugged it. Customer service was closed so I had to email them. I took all the food out and threw it away and cleaned it and it reeks. Received my reply back asking for my order number and serial number. Replied. Received a lengthy several paragraph email stating all steps I needed to complete with pictures showing the instructions for making them a video and how to use Google Drive, showing the brand new unit not working...I am now waiting four hours for the UPS store to open so I can drive this smelly box across town and let this be Amazon's problem.

Buyer beware
Absolutely LOVED this product. Unfortunately after a year it absolutely fell apart. The lid no longer locks which renders it unusable and even if I weigh that down the blades stopped breaking down food. Very disappointed because this machine was great. No help from their customer service except to say sorry

Easy Composting over night
We wanted an easier method of food waste disposal and after the first cycle, I am hooked. We have a traditional compost mound in the back yard, but it takes weeks/months to turn these scraps into compost. Garden critters would also frequent the mound and tear it apart. With this gadget we filled the included bucket and pushed the button starting the cycle. It ran over night and this morning the results are ready to be placed directly into my plants. There was no odor during the cycle and it was very quiet, like a fan running. Looking forward to the next batch now!! Would recommend this gadget, it is super cool!!

Online Manual?
Why is there no online manual for how to work this thing? It’s not on their website nor on Amazon. I’m trying to run the cleaning mode and the only reference to it anywhere online is a 5 second video that says to add water, close the lid and hit clean, but nothing happens when I do it. There must be instructions somewhere online right?
