Fabulous little camera with amazing quality pictures and videos
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely awesome quality pictures and videos. Relatively easy to use and the only real downside is that as it’s so small, it’s difficult to see what you’re doing if, like me, you need reading glasses to see stuff and you’re using the camera without your glasses. I use mine mostly for sea swimming so my solution is to stick my glasses down inside my swimming costume just in case lol

Not much of a improvement over GoPro 11.
I purchased the GoPro 12 Black on the very first day of its release, eager to discover any significant differences from my trusty 11 Black. Here are my takeaways:1. Speedy Menus and Responsiveness: Gone are the lags and delays. The menus are now fast and responsive.2. Carry Case Absence: Unfortunately, GoPro doesn't include a carry case, which can be disappointing if you don't already have one.3. 1/4" Mounting Addition: The addition of a 1/4" mounting option at the bottom is a welcome feature. However, if you're already invested in the GoPro ecosystem, you probably have numerous backward-compatible items with the standard GoPro mounting mechanism.Picture Quality:In bright daylight, there's a negligible difference in picture quality between the 11 and the newly released 12 Black. Details are represented similarly in standard mode.GP-Log: GP-Log seems pretty much useless, as it's challenging to grade and not particularly useful.HDR: The HDR mode is decent, but the reproduction of details in bright areas appears somewhat artificial to me. Dark areas are slightly lifted compared to standard mode. However, you're limited to a frame rate of 30, and you can only shoot at certain ratios – there's no open gate 8:7 (entire sensor readout).Voice and Earphone Controls: While I haven't tested these features yet, the addition of voice control and earphone control is a welcome addition to the GoPro family.Low-Light Performance: Unfortunately, there hasn't been any noticeable improvement in low-light performance compared to the Hero 11.Picture Brightness: The pictures are bright, and detail reproduction is okay, but subpar with newly released smartphones. Can be used as a whole but when cropped the fall of details is significant.Hypersmooth 6.0: I couldn't discern any substantial difference between Hypersmooth 6.0 and 5.0 from the Hero 11.Autoboost: Autoboost is a nice feature that dynamically adjusts the strength of the Hypersmooth stabilization. It's particularly useful for those engaging in dynamic sports. The product itself is solid and well-made, with slightly improved responsiveness. However, I did encounter a camera crash during the initial firmware update, which was perilously close to bricking itself. Thankfully, a manual update via SD card resolved the issue. In summary, if you can find a used Hero 11 Black on sale or a promotional offer for around £300-350, it might be a better choice. Otherwise, if you're in the market for a new GoPro, the 12 Black is a viable option. In my opinion, it should be named the GoPro 11 Black S, as the improvements make it feel like a patched version of the 11 Black. For low light it is still a no-go(pro), Action 4 could be a better option for you.

Quality is in the name
I spent years holding off buying a GoPro, (despite all the great reviews) and opted for cheaper versions.I tried three different brands before and was let down each time, due to picture and audio quality. This is where the Gopro differs from the rest of the competition.I have been blown away at just how good the resolution actually is on this thing. The user interface may seem confusing at the beginning but after playing with it for 10 minutes, it is very easy to function.

Great action camera
I purchased this item from Amazon and within one day 13 was released for £30 more so obviously this was return returned and the 13 was purchased

Disappointed
Battery is awful.Running at 1080p with 24 frame rate, I only get about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Even at low specs selected, it gets HOT. Very hot! This is my first ever GoPro so I don't have anything to compare with. But my cheap Xiaomi phone takes better videos , doesn't get hot and the battery lasts all day. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.I haven't tried filming in 4k but I imagine the battery would be even less. I did try 5 .3k and the battery lasted 15 minutes.
