Took the back off my HP Envy 17 laptop for the first time the other day and was surprised to find a spare drive bay inside. Who knew!? Looked up instructions for installing a second drive and discovered that this was the accessory kit I needed. The price is a tad high, being almost as much as the new hard drive for a couple of bits of foam rubber and a connecting cable, but it works just fine and I'm happy with the results.

The compatible adapter works but, the SATA connector cable is nott produced to a quality anywhere near the quality of the origional HP model. The rubber rails that are used to secure the hard drive are over sized and therefore require a lot of force to insert the drive in to the case and when you tryto remove the drive you run the risk of damaging the rails.My advice is buy the new genuine part or a second hand part through another famous auction site as i know we in the UK can not purchase this part direct from HP.

Works as it should. Expensive for a couple of pieces of rubber and a short data cable, but a small market so have no choice.

Good value for money

A bit expensive for what it is, but fitted perfectly and did the job nicely.

Some the job, cable slightly too long, so had to fold over, but all in all fine.
