Works great, but Q factor increases
I've had this balun installed at the feed point of my 80m half-wave dipole ever since my old 1940s center insulator finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago and needed to be replaced. It works very well, but be aware that it can only handle about 500 watts output. Also, you should be aware that this is an inductor voltage balun and it will make your antenna more narrow-banded (at least that was my experience). It increased my Q factor significantly, so the need to pay attention to proper impedance matching is increased. Other than that, it's a good unit for the price. I hope it stands up to the weather just as well as my old center insulator did. Time will tell.

Good quality
This is a voltage balun. It seems to be working for my home QTH. Improved my signals and reduced my noise on receiver. I am using it on a HF fan dipole. I wish they made these in current balun format.73.

Works as a great fan dipole balun
After getting my General's license I was away at work for a while when I got home I acquired the 991 a. I experimented with 20 m then with 40 m and then I decided to make a fan dipole. I got the legs pretty close and the internal tuner Tunes it in just fine. I have ferrite toroids on the way today to cut down some of the common mode current by wrapping the coax before going into the feed point. Works just as well as the mfj that I bought and will probably last just as long. I like the wing nuts for ease of changing wire. It's been out in the Florida rain now for a little over a month I haven't had any issues

Great for building your own antenna
I used it building a 10M antenna and it got me on the air worldwide. Expert antenna builders may not need it, but for a novice antenna builder, it produced excellent results!

Excellent quality Balun
I've used this Balun for numerous HF dipole antennas. Always excellent results resulting in Many qso's around the world. Also use it for ft8 dipoles.

Happy with this
I made a new 40 meter dipole with this and my radio is really sounding good. The antenna is a cobbled together frankenantenna, but my G-90 seems to like it. I would buy it again.

Works as advertized
Makes a super low cost dipole antenna. Final SWR after tuning for 10 meters was 1.7.
