Initially, I thought the existing thermostat had to be unscrewed, one you realize that it just pops off, this was a very easy install. Good quality and stable stand. Looks good too

Excellent stand. Feels and looks like it’s a decent quality plastic. It’s a Matt finish rather than shiny, fairly thick and sturdy. Fits the Nest perfectly.Once in place with the cable and Nest plugged in, it’s fairly weighty and doesn’t just slide about. It’s not fallen over yet either so well balanced. I’d recommend this over the genuine stand for sure, especially as half the price.

This stand is brilliant value for money. I was expecting the item to be less quality than the Nest original, but this is not the case at all. The stand is heavy so won't fall over. it is built very well and more importantly, looks good in my lounge.

Google recommend professional installation but as a competent DIYer I found it fairly easy to install myself. Some understanding of electrical circuits needed and some online how-to-do it guides are not correct! In any case, terminal positions for the heat link may vary in different boilers. It will be easiest if replacing an existing device, taking careful note of the wiring before proceeding. Once the heat link is connected, setup of the thermostat display is simple, following the step by step sequence. In operation the thermostat is accurate, requiring little intervention but easy to adjust manually if required. I especially like the optional smartphone app, allowing control from any location. (Note: if you choose not to buy the optional Google charging plug and lead, you will need a similar one of your own. I was pleased I also bought the optional stand.)

Turns out my nest installer made a right bodge of the wall mounted version so this is the new nest for the Nest.Surprised by the quality!Perfect

I have a wall mounted nest thermostat and I thought you could just take the thermostat off the wall and plug into this unit. Its not that simple. The unit seems good quality but you have to have the right NEST plug in Unit as well if your thermostat is wall mounted. However, Amazon were excellent allowing a return and refund.
