Q: Can you use a 1/2" emt for smaller spools of wire?

You can use the size of pipe, bar, wooden dowel or just about anything that will support the tare weight of the spool you are loading.

Q: Will this work with a 1000' roll of MC?

It will be tight but i think so. I used it primarily for 1000' reels of cat 5 cable and it handled that easily. If it is standard bx type metal clad.... it will be tight.

Q: Will it hold 1000ft of RG6 cable?

I have used it with outdoor cat6 cable 1000' You have to provide the bar, it only comes with the 2 end pieces. I had an old weight bar (not Olympic size) that I use. It can hold 3 spools of 1000' outdoor cat6

Q: Could this fit 4x 1000' spools of cat6 cable if using black pipe instead of emt?

I think so we done 2x reels of 1000' coax no problem.
