I ordered this on Etsy thinking some nice chap is sitting in a wood workshop doing them... not a chance these days. They are a mass production and you can find them on Chinese websites for a fraction of cost in Europe. They post them through various locations to get around tax duties. Mine arrived and unfortunately was an incorrect size i.e. ordered for 51mm thinking it would nicely fit my brand new La Pavoni Esperto Abile lever espresso but the porta filter that's about 60mm outer diameter fell into the 72mm hole so no tamping possible! I was able to at least sit 51.6mm leveler and tamper on it with some minor gaps around their outer rings. The version I suppose to receive apparently should have 62mm porta filter hole - probably too big anyway and best fit would be around 60-60.5mm so it doesn't fall in when placed at a slight angle. However, the other holes would be then 55mm so my nice tamper and leveller would have to rest on the outer ring that's about 60mm. It wouldn't be problem to take off those few mms of wood and make them bigger but can't really make the 62mm smaller for the porta filter unless 3D print some kind of plastic insert that'll ensure perfect fit. There's no customisations possible from the sellers either although managed to track manufacturer in China. I'm glad I got a full refund and can keep the incorrect item - am very tempted to 3D print the insert ring (or re-order the 62mm + 55mm +55m version when 50% discounted - you get them for like $13 on alibaba!) because otherwise it's an amazingly looking product! Make sure you check properly sizes of your porta filter and accessories before you buy it.

I’ll start off by saying that this particular tamping box is gorgeousss! I did have a couple of hiccups with the item at first, as the insert needed for my 54mm portafilter was missing, but the customer service team was truly impeccable in their communication and were extremely quick in resolving my issue! HIGHLY Recommend this beautiful tamping knock box! 😍

Solid material, very sturdy

Very nice product, looks great and fits all my accessories. Only improvement would be there is a little rubber piece to stick on and support the portafilter. Its diameter is actually too small so you have to stretch it a bit when you stick it on - trivial I know but it seems odd they didn’t get it right. My portafilter handle is also a bit heavier than normal with a metal end, so it falls out… but not the fault of the holder. I prop it up with a little towel I use for cleaning.
