Mr. Stephen LauMy Myasthenia Gravis: A Holistic Approach to Autoimmune Diseases

Waste of money
Totally useless book. It contains very vague, generic and fluffy suggestions that don't add any value for those that have diagnozed with myasthenia gravis. No root-causes of the disease, no specific methods of healing. In a nutshell: you just have to believe in yourself and you will recover, which is a total nonsense.

You need to learn this stuff for your own good.
Having Myasthenia Gravis is no joke. I was diagnosed in 2007 and suffered tremendously for years. Doctors want to medicate and patch the problem and rarely talk about lifestyle habits and dietary restrictions that can help. You need to learn this stuff for your own good.

I was very disappointed with this book
I was very disappointed with this book. First of all, I don't like the fact that Mr. Lau cites unnamed research studies, e.g., a "research study" determined Aspartame to be deadly. If you are going to mention a study and claim something is deadly then provide specifics, e.g., via footnotes such as one is required to do in when writing a high school English paper. IMHO almost every cliche and pseudo scientific theory of alternative medicine is cited in this book in sort of a helter skelter/ willy nilly manner without any specifics connecting these theories to Myasthenia Gravis. The author even gets in a rant about the pasteurization of milk terming dairy products a deadly poison or some such language. Of course there are the usual diatribes against Big Pharma, Western Medicine and so forth. Of course Chi is not neglected with a commentary on Qi Gong and the finger pressing of acupuncture points. With respect to exercise there is a mention of Yoga but for some reason Pilates (sarcasm) is not mentioned. Not being content with alternative medicine, this book gives a philosophical bonus with guidance from Buddha, the Bible, and Taoism. As must be obvious I did not like this book and felt somewhat ripped off. However, I did give it two stars instead of one because there was some useful (albeit limited) information on plant sterols.

Just ok book on a grave subject
This thin book on MG is an attempt to be helpful at best. Totally from the point of view of one mans experience , the advice is fine but many times obvious and a bit shallow.I am sure this is better material from people having the condition out there.

Disappointed
I was disappointed reading this book, as I thought it would contain more specific advice and more details about the author's own journey towards healing. In fact it was only 6 pages out of 119 which explained about "My Myasthenia Gravis" …. all the rest were "holistic" recommendations on diets and supplements etc.in general and did not contain anything new for someone who is already well into a holistic approach.Sorry, the title is wrong and misleading, even if the subtitle speaks more of a holistic approach to autoimmune diseases!

Myasthenia Gravis Book
Great book, a bit more on what he did to control his illness, not so much on Myasthenia Gravis
