Other carving kits seem brittle and cheap. I am so impressed with this kit. The handles are solid and the blades are sharp. Great value for the price!

We had a pumpkin carving party and everyone wanted to use these tools. They are sturdy and fit well in your hands. I am ordering a second set now.

Easy to use & very durable!

We're big into Halloween in our household and in recent years have been carving a total of six pumpkins. Normally we just use a set we purchased from our local grocery store, but when I saw this, I figured it was time to up our game.There's a total of 7 carving tools and one scooping tool. All have bright orange plastic handles with a fun decorative design. A handy storage bag is included, as well as some protective plastic casings for the sharper tools.Overall these handled our pumpkins fairly well. Now, we had some pumpkins that were harder and had tougher skin. These did okay on them but the waxiness of the skin proved a bit slippery. Your "normal" orange pumpkins with the softer skin are more ideal for this set. NOTE: all these tools were super sharp--which is great--but can be potentially dangerous. Exercise caution.In short, this was a good set to have, especially if you like to do more intricate or multiple designs (like us).

This is a very solid little set of carving tools.Some of the unique blades make it easier to get a little more creative with the carving designs. These tools are definitely a lot more sturdy and durable than those cheap, flimsy little carving sets you find at the grocery store and whatnot.The main thing I had a potential issue with was, surprisingly, the scooping tool when gutting the pumpkin. The issue being, that as you're gutting it, the pumpkin guts make the handle very slick and it becomes very easy for your hand to slip around and slide down the handle towards the semi-sharp scoop blade. So, some caution there.Otherwise, though, these worked great!

I got this set because of the larger and thicker handles, hoping it would give me better carving leverage than those cheap sets you get at grocery stores. These did not disappoint! I got them to be ready for Halloween but did not have a pumpkin handy in August. Instead, I tried them out on an overgrown summer squash that languished in the garden for a month longer than it should have. The squash had a super thick rind. It's not a problem at all for this set. Was able to work through it with no problem. With its wide handle, the steal scrapper made short work of the squash innards. I would never bother buying those cheap carving sets again, especially because this set isn't going to break bank accounts. They only cost a little more than what you find in grocery stores. These are an excellent value for the price and the quality you get. Don't wait to get them!

If you're like me, you dread the Halloween season and pumpkin carving because the little tools that come in the kits from the grocery store or hardware store are always flimsy and never give you the result you're looking for especially when it comes to fine details.Well start the car! These tools are super sturdy, I love that it has a scooper so I don't have to risk bending my kitchen spoons or breaking the ineffective plastic one that comes with the other kits, and they make for fine detail carving very easy in comparison.I especially love that it comes with a little zipper pouch to store them in. I'm easily able to tuck them in the back of the junk drawer and know that there won't be any accidental finger pokes or slices when little hands start rummaging through and also makes it for a nice convenience storage during the offseason.I didn't have extremely high expectations for these because I expected good quality to come at a higher price but we are very pleasantly surprised. These will make getting through our six pumpkins this year much smoother than any year prior.Great product!

Previously, I was using a pumpkin carving set (saw and scooper) from the dollar store and though affordable, it was tough to carve a pumpkin or make intricate designs. This pumpkin carving kit on the other hand is so much better and provides a complete set of tools to make carvings easy and more elaborate.I like that it comes in an orange pouch and that there are thick plastic bags to hold the tools so that they are protected and you are protected as well. The tools are sturdy and sharp, so not for young kids and older kids require supervision. They have hard plastic handles that are comfortable to hold, and the spider web design and orange colour match the occasion, and looks nice too.The double-sided saw was good for making the opening and carving while the single sided saw was good for more precise touch ups. The scooper is super solid and works well. The peeler was easy to use and adds an element that I did not have at my disposal before. The other tools were good as well. It also includes a guide with instructions. If I had to be nitpicky, the pouch does have a bad plastic smell.Overall, this a nice looking sturdy pumpkin carving set that has all the tools for making intricate and elaborate designs. Recommended.
