This is a fantastic book. Not only is it full of amazing information that everyone should know, it also give you an amazing tool to help change your life for the better. I haven't even finished the book yet and I am more than impressed. All the information I am reading I have read in many different places but to see it all pulled together in such an easy to understand way, validating many other things I have read, is really great. I highly recommend it to anyone on this path.

Gorgeous book.
Firstly i bought the kindle edition, after reading a couple of chapters i decided this is exceptionaly insightful and well written. So i went ahead and bought a physical copy as well. I must say the quality and layout of this book complements the material inside, a very happy purchase.

Wisdom.
This book is an excellent companion to my yoga nefa cd. I find that I am getting a lot more from my yoga practice as I read each chapter.

Good Yoga Philosophy and Benefits
This is a surprisingly good summary of yoga philosophy in general especially the koshers, and where Yoga Nidra fits into this. It's also a very detailed summary of the benefits of yoga Nidra backed up by research studies. However, there is very little of the practical how to teach/practice yoga Nidra (just one very short chapter at the end), which I found surprising and disappointing. Lots of good background theory, but not very practical.

Couldn't put it down!
A lot of the philosophy behind Yoga Nidra but easy to read. I ended up relaxed and doing the Pathway through the Chakra meditation available on YouTube every day.

Das Buch ist sehr gut recherchiert und in klarer Sprache abgefasst. Kamini Desai überzeugt mit ihrer geduldigen und gut verständlichen sowie einfühlsamen Ausführungen. Man spürt die fundierte praktische Erfahrung und findet einen bereichernden Zugang zur ayurvedischen Tradition sowie auch zu den bei uns immer wieder zu lesenden Begriffen. Ich mache seit 2 Wochen täglich regelmässig diese Form von Yoga Nidra und bin begeistert.

Esse livro apresenta uma técnica de meditação bem mais fácil do que a meditação da atenção plena. Atenção plena exige prática, disciplina para formar um novo hábito. Yoga Nidra não, pois se baseia em uma habilidade que todos nós já temos, que é a capacidade de relaxar e dormir. Então a coisa toda parece bem menos assustadora do que uma sessão formal de meditação, onde a posição recomendada é a sentada com a coluna ereta. Yoga Nidra não tem toda essa exigência. Para que já medita, como eu, a técnica do Yoga Nidra acrescenta mais uma ferramenta ao nosso kit de ferramentas. Para quem nunca meditou e pretende começar recomendo fortemente conhecer essa técnica. A autora, filha de um dos maiores yogues do ocidente, resgata um conhecimento milenar do Yoga e explica, em linguagem clara e cheia de exemplos, o conhecimento que está codificado nos Upanishads, inacessível para os leigos. O livro é dividido em 3 partes. Na primeira, ela revela os segredos ancestrais do Yoga Nidra. A autora, Phd em psicologia, explica detalhadamente a transformação que ocorre no cérebro do praticante à luz das ondas mentais: alfa, beta, gama, delta e teta. O livro é recheado de artigos científicos que ratifica aquilo que os yogues vem dizendo há mais de 3 mil anos. A autora decompõe a prática do Yoga Nidra em suas partes constituintes. Assim fica fácil entender os porquês e aonde se quer chegar: em um estado de consciência que está além da mente, conhecido como turiya. Essa é a meta final da técnica. Mesmo para quem não deseja ir tão longe, benefícios imensos para a saúde do praticante serão vivenciados, coisa que é explorada na segunda sessão do livro: depressão, ansiedade, insônia, maus hábitos, vícios, traumas e estresse pós-traumático. Finalmente, a terceira sessão traz um script que pode ser gravado e usado durante uma sessão de Yoga Nidra.
