Fun toy but the fan noise is scary for my daughter
My daughter wanted one of these so bad after seeing commercials for it so we got her one for her birthday. It's super easy to set up and start using. The batteries were pre-installed so all we had to do was flip the switch on the bottom to turn it on.To activate it, you tap the front and it the light turns on. You have to push a little hard and hold the back of the case so it doesn't fall over, so I would have liked it to be a little more sensitive but it's not a big deal.Once the light turns on, the top cracks open and you can unfold it. Then just give it a couple of seconds and the flyer will turn on and fly up. It was much louder than my daughter expected and it scared her. It's not super loud, but she expected it to be quiet. It's more like a tiny drone. We've only had it for a few days, but she still doesn't really want to play with it unfortunately. You can place your hands under it to control it, which is a lot of fun. And if it bumps into anything it turns off. The blades are very light, so you can touch them with your hands it won't hurt; or at least it doesn't hurt me. Tiny hands might be more sensitive. But unless this hits your face, I think you're pretty safe to touch it.To turn it off, you're supposed to press down the button at the top. It's a long stick that comes up from the top. The manual says to use a flat book to place on top and push the button. I can't get the button to work. I've pressed it multiple times and it just won't work, so I've had to let it crash to turn off. I usually just grab it or let it crash into my chest.Overall, it's a fun toy, just a little loud.

Silly packaging but a very cool toy inside
We originally got this as a birthday gift from a friend and looking at the packaging I assumed it would be a toy we enjoyed opening, played with for a few days, and then got bored of. But actually the fairy inside the egg is really cool - even my older child plays with it. The egg itself is a little clunky (ours broke right away) and honestly not needed. The fairy inside however is a really clever flying toy. It will hover in midair on its own, I mean really hover. It will move up if you put your hand underneath, fly left and right with a bit of wind. It's pretty durable too - we haven't managed to break ours yet and the kids are pretty rough with it. The downside is that it needs to charge a lot and only lasts for a short time before needing to get plugged back in. Also if you have very low ceilings it might not bring quite as much fun. But we liked it so much that we are buying one for a friends birthday.
