Bathroom Look L shaped shower curtain rail ceiling fixing in polished brass/gold

I bought this to replace one of those tired looking plastic rails you can get. As we had a nice Victorian shower, it felt right and justified the expense.Anyone purchasing these must bear in mind that it is delivered as a single piece, no joints. As with me, this will probably mean you need to cut to suit. With this piece, that was more difficult than I thought as I needed to trim both ends. Easy enough for one end, but on the other end the mounting flange is brazed on, meaning if you cut it off, you are done for!I managed to get around this by cutting near the bend and using the ceiling support to double up as a joining piece. To ensure stability, I fitted a suitably sized piece of pipe inside this (actually, the old shower rail). It worked fine.The item is of great quality and looks fantastic when installed. It is heavy, and is probably a 2 person job. Also, at this cost you definitely measure twice and cut once.One last thing. The ceiling support is intended to be a fixed length also. In my case, it came at about 400mm, and I only wanted about 100mm. After talking to the supplier, who was extremely helpful and offered to supply a different length piece, I managed to get mine apart so I could cut it down and re-assemble.As I said, it is an involved fit, I am an engineer so I knew what I was doing with the internal threaded parts etc, but if in doubt, get someone in to do it.As I said, the supplier was very helpful and accommodating, and I would buy one again and use this supplier again, you just need to know what you are doing.
