There's a bit of a trade-off to achieve compactness
I think it's a break-down paddle perhaps suitable for an inflatable kayak owner, if only that the break-down feature lasts, which it might not. Maybe plan on frequent disassembly or when ever not actively paddling, or else the whole thing seizes together. A disassembly of the center section by prying off an end cap would allow access to the button springs for rinsing clean off saltwater ingress. Springs would be made of steel, and subject to rusting, and failure of the buttons to lock the assembly. It's adjustable - long to short and to feather the blades in different orientations. Minimum insertion of the center piece when fully extended is only 3.5 inches an other customers complain of breakage. The open adjustment holes can take on water and create a heavy side unless taped over. Electrical tape?

Great quality, very light and adjustable.definitely worth the price
These are a godsend, especially if you get shoulder pain or back pain. They are so much lighter than the stock ones and they are adjustable.and comes with the lanyard strap to clip to yourself or your kayak or boat.these make the day better especially when you forget how far you’ve paddled out and it’s time to head back.

Durable, easy to assemble and disassemble, and moves water very smoothly.
Great paddle for kayaking on flat fresh water and coastal waters. The paddle is durable, easy to assemble and disassemble, and moves water very smoothly. The variety of blade colors was a plus, as we have differing color kayaks. I would buy again, so I also recommend the paddle to others.

Recommend
2 piece paddle that has various lengths. I use it in my entry level fishing kayak.

Not much bite
If you just want to say you have a paddle with some carbon fiber in it, then buy this. I trust them that it's there. It is also not a bad value. However, I would recommend other options for a similar price if you just want the best paddle for your money. I have a Bending Branches Whisper that I used before this. It is only slightly more expensive. It's aluminum, but only weighs about 3 ounces more. And it gets a lot more bite on each stroke. I felt like I was paddling with a broom stick when I first switched to this Oceanbroad paddle. It seemed like i wasn't getting anywhere. I got much more power and traveled farther with each stroke with my other paddle.I also don't like that I have to hold part of the shaft that has holes in it when I use this at its longest setting. It is not comfortable to hold it in that area.Personally, if I wanted a cheap paddle, I would go with the basic paddle from a big sporting goods store. If I want light, I would go with a more expensive carbon fiber paddle - lighter than this and more efficient paddling. If I want value and balance, I would go with the Whisper, especially when it's on sale. There is nothing wrong with this paddle - it works, and seems strong enough. I don't think it will break easily and strand you anywhere. But any benefit you think you are getting from carbon fiber will be lost by all the extra strokes you need to take to move through the water. And it is really not that lightweight.
