Evans Bass Drum Heads - BD18EMAD - EMAD - 18-inch Bass Drum Head

Great replacement batter head, has served me well. Easy to tune and is pretty consistent under tension. I play metal so a lot of double bass giving the skin a good workout and it has lasted really well.

Personal factors on how you like your sound make it tricky to select the right drum heads. If you like a punchy sound then emad is good choice,good for rock.I like the fact you can change dampers not glued in like other brands. I currently playing with no damper gives great sound and volume with no mic in gig situation, I've got 7inch porthole in centre of res head which i find helps pump out the sound.The head did come with a beater patch.

i personally love this bass drrum head ... no matter what size bass drum you have i am sure it will sound better with the evans EMAD ... it comes with two rubber or plastic material ( not sure which ) that fits onto the bass drum to make it have less resinance. i found the sound is now much qucker and has a more dry sound. well worth the money because the improvement is phenominal!

This is by far the best head i've ever brought for a bass drum, i have one of these on my mapex saturn with a Evans EQ black patch on them to mainly stop my pedals from damaging it, and with only a tiny pillow inside, its just gives off the most beautiful full and powerful chest thumping sound, would reccommend a thousand times over.

Just done my first gig with this skin, much better sounding than my previous (cheaper) Evans, not quite fruity enough for 5 stars but I may be able to tweek the tuning a bit and get it to sound a little better. Good powerful projection that will cut through the rest of the band, needs to be tuned fairly slack but I guess it's a matter of taste! Overall good value for money and great, quick delivery.

Cette peau est de qualité Premium, elle sonne parfaitement. Le prix est certes plus cher que d'autres peau. Toutefois, il faut prendre en compte que le Package comprend un Patch de protection de peau (vendu de 6 à 10€ à l'unité) ainsi que 2 anneaux en mousse pour l'atténuateur de résonnance. Personnellement j'ai mis le plus gros atténuateur sur ma 22" Tama Royalstar et elle n'a jamais sonné aussi bien ! j'ai même enlevé la serviette à l'intérieur de la grosse caisse. Pour finir je précise que ma peau de résonnance est une Aquarian Regulator.
