This is my first electronic trimmer and I love it so far! Cuts on certain branches are not clean cut like how it would be if I used shears... not sure if I'm doing it right but it gets the job done. I was able to prune my old Azalea bushes that have woody branches.it took me awhile to put on the shield thing, you have to push it in to lock it into place and then screw on the screw. It was confusing because it fit well on the trimmer so I didn't realize I had to push it in further so that it lines up with the machine's grooves.also, a little silly but I did cut my cord a little so you still have to be careful where the cord is relative to the blade...

Excellent trimmer. This is a replacement for a trimmer that we’ve had for nearly 20 years, it worked well and probably would still be working had it not gotten destroyed in a fire.Handy to use, lots of power, will trim anything you can get into the blades.

We bought this hedge trimmer to tame the jungle that has consumed our yard and possibly several missing neighbors. It sliced through most of the chaos with ease—until it met some thicker branches and vines, which put up a bit more of a fight. Still, it got the job done.Then came the real moment of truth.After heroically finishing the trim, my husband turned off the trimmer and, in a move that can only be described as "cinematic irony," lowered it toward the ground... straight into the power cord. One snip later and it was game over.First use. Cord: decapitated.So yes, this hedge trimmer works—a little too well. Just remember to keep the cord far, far away from the business end unless you're looking to turn yard work into a comedy of errors.Would still buy again. Probably also buying a replacement cord.

Wow, this worked so easy and so fast. I want to kick myself for not buying one sooner. This Black and Decker hedge trimmer worked like a charm, and I have never used an electric trimmer before! It is lightweight and easy to handle. I probably went a little overboard in trimming my hedges, but they will grow back. lolI don't give 5 stars to many products or services, so this is a definite great purchase.

Works well, nice and sharp. Good power. Have trimmed 3 bushes twice with it.I'll report back when I have some more use on it. The hand guard is cheap and gets in the way. You don't need it.
