NutriSource Grain Free Dry Dog Food for Large Breeds, Chicken and Peas, 26LB

This is the best dog food and my girls all love it! Been using it for 10 years now all 4 small dogs love it and it’s easy for them to chew and digest! 10/10 so happy with this dog food!

Switching to Tuffy NutriSource alleviated our dog’s internal yeast infection. This yeast infection had spread into his ears, which was the cause of his earaches. In addition, this also developed into an irritated skin condition that made him bite and itch his tail and the upper section of his front legs. Unfortunately, his former dog food contained some ingredients that were contributing to this growth of yeast.Some of his yeast infection symptoms included a decrease or loss of appetite, and he started biting and chewing off the fur at the top of his tail. In addition, this itchiness was also on the upper portions of his front legs and overnight he managed to bite this area so much that by morning they were scabby and bleeding. The next area that he started licking were the soft pads under his feet. Furthermore, the fur on his legs matted in a gummy, sticky, gooey, mess from his saliva as if there was a bad substance coming up from his gut. This yeast infection was irritating his skin all over which caused him to bite and lick these itchy areas.The vet diagnosed my dog’s condition as a yeast infection in his intestinal gut, which spread to his skin and there was some inflammation in his ears. Regrettably, many of the ingredients in his previous dog food, were Intensifying this yeast condition. This included the carbohydrates from the sweet potatoes, and the sugars from the berries and other fruit.Since my dog has a sensitive stomach as he does not respond well to antibiotics, I used a holistic approach in addition to a change of diet. This consisted of prebiotics, and probiotics in addition to changing to this dog food.As a side note, the following holistic medications that worked miracles are all sold on Amazon.1. Zymox Enzymatic Ear Solution – for his ear infection (just one drop in ear ear)These other natural holistic medications can go directly on food. However, I mixed them with a little mashed salmon, (his favorite food) because I wanted him to finish every drop.2. Missing Link Pet Kelp Formula – Probiotic Blend3. Animal Essentials – Detox/Allergy Blend (comes as a liquid with an eyedropper dispenser)4. Animal Essentials – Liver Defense (comes as a liquid with an eyedropper dispenser)In the meantime, and to provide some relief from his itchy irritated and itchy skin condition, I soaked his legs and feet once or twice a day with a solution of distilled white vinegar mixed with warm water. Vinegar has antibacterial properties, and I chose the white vinegar because I did not want to stain his white fur. Afterward I toweled off his legs and feet and let them air-dry. White vinegar does not sting or hurt, and it offers relief from minor skin scrapes, bug bites and itching and when diluted with water, this is a natural and safe topical application.Given that I used a holistic method instead of antibiotics, it took 10 weeks of treatment to get his yeast infection under control. Meanwhile, he is no longer plagued with earaches or irritated skin and the fur on his legs and tail has grown back full and thick. Finally, he is happy, and thriving with good health, however, this would not have been possible without changing his food to the Tuffy Dog NutriSource dog food.This is a grain-free pelleted food without any unnecessary filler. It contains Omega 3 and 6 along with both probiotics and prebiotics for the continuing health of my dog.Another advantage is the wide selection of flavors, especially since my dog is a fussy eater and his favorite is the fish flavor. He won’t touch veal, and he doesn’t care for lamb, beef or chicken. Therefore, the transition from his former food to this one was very easy, and it did not upset his sensitive stomach.

SOMEWHAT LONG REVIEW!!This dog brand is wonderful to give to your pup or adult pup. So long as the bag says that it's appropriate for all life stages, then you have nothing to worry about.My pup is about 5 months old now and she is a German Shepherd/Pitbull mix and pitties tend to have some skin allergies and food allergies. She, of course, is allergic to chicken/turkey/quail etc. Basically anything that is a bird she can't eat and this seafood diet is a lifesaver. She loves the flavour but I do change it up from time to time so she doesn't get bored (like using the lamb meal one also a very good alternative.) Now there was a concern I had with one of the ingredients, which is the chicken fat however I did some research about it and it will not harm your pup should they have a poltury allergy as well so don't be discouraged by that!Now the price point isn't too bad assuming you just got a new pup so they don't eat as much but I do wish it was just a little bit cheaper so it doesn't hurt my wallet from time to time. At least it's not as bad as other big name products that charge you and arm and a leg for ONE 30lbs bag with absolute garbage ingredients that are not good for a growing pup.

The quality of this food is better than other kibbles in my opinion. The value for this food is inexpensive comparing to other brands. I have noticed my chihuahua has no problem with his skin and digestive issues. It has help him loose weight and maintain his weight. The size of the kibble in small pieces for my chihuahua to chew. I highly recommend anyone that is looking for a better quality food for their fur baby.

I don't leave many reviews so it's a big deal that I am now. I switched from feed I'd been using for years, and I have used several brands at the same time being the owner of many Labradors. I have shown, handled and bred for over 20 years, and never have I found a kibble that is awesome for all the dogs no matter their age, as this Nutrisource line. ADDED BENEFITS that really DO occur are the lessening and elimination is most cases of skin sensitivites, ear issues, etc. Never would I have believed a review that honestly said a food could make such a huge difference. THIS one does, and you should try it for sure.A gentleman named Joe was tremendously helpful, answered all my questions, and it was great that my inquiry was responded to in a matter of minutes, from the time I asked a question here on Amazon's site. My middle size dog loves this dog food. Heck fire, some of my cats eatThr dry kibble food of the long lost family. And my 10 cats just love their food. Animals!
