Remo Produces Durable Heads
This 13" head fit my snare perfectly, and for a cheap price. Made in the USA, I bought this head along with a 12" and 14" and I am pleased with all three. I’ve been drumming for almost three years now and needed to replace my low quality heads that have been beaten and battered to all hell with higher quality heads with a better, warmer sound. Remo does just that.Observations:- The heads look exactly as described. I bought three drum heads; the 13” head is obviously smaller than the 14” head but larger than the 12” head.- This is your standard Remo Ambassador drum head. There’s no glossy finish. This is a simple head and it does a simple job.- It might be a given, but know your setup before purchasing and research what you need to do to produce a less muffling and in tune sound. Any experienced drummer knows this.Although my old heads were produced by GP Percussion, as that is the brand of my drum set, it is already evident to me that Remo has much higher quality heads that create wonderful sound when hit with proper muffling. I recommend these for the sound and given price. I should note that I bought this product at full price and am not affiliated with Amazon or the seller.

Great drum head
Nice coated drum head. I bought for my floor tom. Creates a nice warm tone with good attack.

The tom head of choice.
The perfect drum head for a tom in just about any playing situation, in my opinion. Emperor heads are great for that classic tom sound you're looking for. An ambassador is going to ring a little more. Emperors are bright and full bodied, with a medium decay. They don't sound like a thud, but they don't sound "ringy." Personally I like to put some Moon Gel (dampener) on the edge to dampen the sound a tiny bit at home. I would not put anything besides an Emperor or Ambassador on my toms, and yes, I've tried every other option.I would say the only thing the Emperor head would not be perfect for is jazz music. I like a more ringy sound for jazz music, and the emperor has more of a classic sound.

Look for the crown or frown.
You wouldn't think it should make much difference which brand drum head you use as they're all made from Mylar, but nonetheless I akways get great results with Remo and every time I've switched to give Evans a shot I'm not as happy. I've done that about 4 or 5 times now so it's at the point where I've learned it's not a coincidence. Remo heads just work easily and great every time for me with my two drum kits. For even more durability and a thicker costing that won't wear off easily try the Vintage emperors.

Very durable
One of the best I’ve used and makes the drum sound more snappy and responsive!

Packaging was terrible! the box was bent and smashed.
The Emperor Coated from Remo is amazing. Great sound. The packaging was lazy and risky. The box was bent and appeared to be smashed, but somehow the drum head seems to be okay. Takes a minute to package something properly.
