The book cover many practical experiments that explore the principles of physics. For each of the principles covered, background theory is first covered before outlining the details of the experiment.This is an excellent text for teachers.

There are many standard activities listed in this book, but if you've been teaching, even for a little while you will have seen most of them. There are no really new or exciting ideas in here. There are much better ideas around on the internet for free for example the Institute of Physics covers most of these activities plus more on their website.

I had been teaching maths for a couple of years and then asked to teach physics. I had very little background in physics, or any science subjects for that matter. But this text was fantastic as a bank of resources for some beginning ideas.Each topic begins with an overview on how it is used in the real world, giving you some great introductory discussions you can have with students to get them engaged. Each prac that follows is explained in detail and also has solutions on what should have happened as well as why at the end of each topic. As someone with such little physics knowledge, the explanations included were very clear and helped me solidify my own knowledge of the content before attempting it in class.However, these pracs aren't well designed to be photocopied and given straight to students. They aren't written up nicely like pre-made worksheets. So some work would be needed to make use of the activities for students.In short: a great resource if you are a bit lost and need some basic ideas of how to start.

This book is excellent for a teacher with many hands-on activities for kids with generally easily found materials. I don't have to create my own lectures, I can just read bits of the text to the kids. What I might want to explain on my own comes in the For the Teacher section, which I will read ahead of each class. This text is much more complete and well-organized than Homework Helpers Physics, which I will use as more of a back-up and fill-in resource. I am verrrry happy with this purchase.

Book is in, at best, good condition, not very good. Cover very tired, folded.

This book was delivered sooner than expected and in perfect condition i bought it used but you can't tell. Very satisfied!

Great book! As a homeschool family, we are enjoying the labs in this book. They truly do equate to everyday life and use material that are readily available. A great find for any highschool student!
