Great game, but cards are too big
Great game for kids and adults. Pretty easy to learn, but you gain strategy along the way, making it a good brain exerciser. My only complaint is the oversized cards. There are about 100 cards which get separated into 2 stacks, each of which has to be shuffled. I was able to hand shuffle them but I have been shuffling cards for over 60 years. I recommend sleeving them for easier shuffling. I don't think they make card shufflers for these LARGE cards.

Good game for kids.
I’m a board game hobbyist. We played this and gave it a +1 out of 0-3. It’s easy and fun but meant for kids. We wanted a little more meat on the bone.

Fun Game!
The game is easy to learn. The artwork is very appealing. Game play is clever. The fact that two decks of cards placed side by side are made to look like a tome is ingenious. Refilling the card display mimics turning pages in a book so refilling the card display isn’t just a mundane end of turn cleanup action. This is one game where you will likely never forget to refill the display because you WANT to change the deck/ tome. Scoring this game will give your mental arithmetic skills a workout should you accept the challenge. In my humble opinion that’s a good thing for any age group. It plays pretty quickly and you can modify the game to accommodate younger players which also means this is a game that will grow with a growing family. The game components are durable. I see them lasting as long as you have the game if you take care of it. I’ll leave the critiques about the game’s complexity, randomness vs strategy to the experts. I don’t play games enough for that stuff to be apparent or relevant to me. All I know is after my first play of this game I was smiling inside and out. I truly enjoyed the experience gameplay provided me. Can’t wait to play again.

Really fun game for gamers alike
Cool theme, easy to learn gameplay. Win/Win. Game's artwork is super cute. Its basically a set collection game where you score points by playing dragons that match the cards on the magic book. What's great is you can play a card back to the book to change the number or dragon in order to play what's in your hand. Scoring is simple and I think a kid 10+ could easily handle this. Very enjoyable to play with adults too.

Very cute board game, a bit too easy though
Played this game with my niece and nephew who are 13 & 14 and it may have been a bit too simple/easy for them. The game itself seems great, very high quality and it is a unique game. However It is probably targeted at a younger audience like 8-10 years range I would guess.

meh. Just felt like a race
I wanted to like this game and I've read great things about it. The mechanics are neat, but It felt a bit lacking. After a few turns it just felt like a race to the finish. It was easy to figure out how to manipulate the cards in my favor so that the other person couldn't play and I could gain amulet pieces. There was no tempo to the game. The turns were the same every time.

Fun game!
It’s simple enough to play with non-serious gamers, but complex enough that you really have to think about strategy when you’re in a competitive group. I love having games like this where I can play with just about anybody.
