Blows away our old processor
Little pricey but like night and day versus our previous $100 processor that died. This thing turns a large potato into perfect fries in about 1 second (processes way faster than you can possibly feed it). Blades are amazing quality and motor is 3x more powerful than most processors. Really heavy but feels made to last (why it's heavy). Won't ever go back to bargain/cheap processors again. Love the quality case for the blades and hooks. Easy to feed and easy to clean up.

LOVE this thing
I bought this to replace an older model of this same food processor. The motor and blades were still going strong after 10 years but the bowl cracked and they no longer make replacements for it. I plugged this one in and it’s even better than the one I replaced. Very powerful motor. It shredded carrots in a blink and blended a sticky fig mixture with no problem. Looking forward to trying it to make nut butters. That was the only thing my previous one struggled with.

Didn’t work very long
I bought one of these some years back, didn’t use it very many times, and the motor stopped working. Now I have this beautiful appliance sitting on my counter, but it won’t do anything. Mine came with a smaller bowl, too, which was nice. I wish I could just buy the base since the rest of it is like new. I have other Breville small appliances that have worked forever and are still going strong.

Get a spare room
Have a number of breville appliances and like all of them. Bought this for the wife. Problem is it's as big as my wifeSeriously the thing weighs 40lbs. Unless you are going to keep it on the counter all time and have a spare room to keep that counter in I think this isn't the unit for you. It's basically a Volkswagen masquerading as a food processor

It's powerful but isn't much more useful than something cheaper.
Everything you put into it will come out mostly chopped into little pieces with a few larger chunks. The larger the pieces the larger the chunks. This is the new model which Breville doesn't offer a dicing kit for, yet. The french fry blade is kind of a novelty. Overall, I feel like the blades are high quality. This comfortably makes 2 loaves worth of dough but doesn't knead it well. It just powers through the dough ripping it up. Some food processors offer a lower power setting for kneading. I found the 2.5 cup insert useful. Water gets inside the handle so food can probably get inside the handle too. Food will definitely get behind the gasket. For $500 you'd think it would be perfect. Unfortunately it's not. If you know you need it, well here it is. Or maybe the 9 cup Ninja from Walmart will work just as well for your purposes. Only you can decide.
