Wanted to control my non-Philips LED strip light in my kitchen
This product worked well first time! I have a white LED kitchen strip light (not Philips) which I wanted to hook up to the Philips Hue system. This item worked exactly as described with my Philips Hue system. It shows up in the Philips Hue App and can be renamed just like any other 'device'. My only observation is that the instructions make it clear that the Philips Hue bridge needs to be within 3m of this device which in my view is extremely short! Luckily with this particular installation, that was the case; however, might be worth checking this beforehand. Overall, a great product and very easy to set up!

Good Ballast that Integrates well with Hue
Used this Ballast to replace an infra red control unit that came with a TV CabinetNeeded to cut the power supply dc plug off to use it with this ballast, as it uses push down clamp connectors. I also had to tin the wires with a soldering iron, as the clamp connector seems more secure with slightly thicker conductors.Once done, the Ballast appeared as 'Extended Color light' when i scanned for new devices using the Hue App.Since then it has worked just like my other hue devices.I did have one instance when it seemed to crash and required a power cycle, but that coincided with my trying to add the light to the Hive app via it's Hue integration. It's been fine since.Overall, this seems the most cost effective way I can currently see to integrate RGB or RGBW strip lighting into the hue system.

This is much bigger than i was expecting
But it does work really well with Philips Hue. Be aware that it doesn't come with a power supply, luckily I had a power supply from some IKEA LED strips I used to have, so I just chopped the end off and wired it in.

Works with SmartThings and Alexa
This is the second of two products bought from Ajax Online. The setup is trick if it's your first time because the instructions, aren't relevant to SmartThings. You have to go into the IDE in your Samsung SmartThings account and change a setting. Not difficult but just about impossible because you don't have all the right information in the box.One again Ayay, the owner came to the rescue with the right information - and on a Sunday too. How's that for customer service? The controller is very easy to wire and worked flawlessly once powered up.Manual control is a little jumpy, not because of the controller, but because of the inherent latency in the device you're using (smartphone or tablet) when coupled with the SmartThings Hub.However, when controlled through an automation in SmartThings, dimming and colour changes with LED strip lights are really smooth. The best bit is that the device is picked up by Alexa. Hue and brightness changes are silky smooth - exactly what I was looking for.Once you've gone through the setup hurdles you are rewarded with an excellent product which is cheaper than many of the rivals. It's ZigBee 3.0 and will mesh to extend the network. You'll also need to buy a good 12V or 24V power supply in addition to the controller.

Great product. Super easy to install, used it to replace a dumb wall controller for some under cupboard LED lights in our kitchen. Had a bit of trouble getting it connected and had to call the Ajax online support. The person I spoke to was fantastic, actually helped me to get it setup through Smartthings which I wasn't expecting to be possible as it didn't show as working with Smartthings on their website. They talked me through the setup and it's now working flawlessly with a smartthings motion sensor. Highly recommended, great product and great customer support.

Not an alternative to Phillips Hue, really disappointing.
I purchased this to connect with my Phillips Hue system. Unfortunately this controller behaves as two separate lights when linked in to a Phillips Hue system; colours as one light, and the white as a second light, not as one cohesive controller like the Phillips Hue bulbs. This means it you can move between the colours but the white will always remain off or on (depending how you've got the white switched on or off) and they don't seamlessly interact with the colours. I found this really disappointing and not at all like Phillips Hue bulbs. However, I will say the customer service was brilliant, albeit I have now returned this for a refund.
