Stainless steel is Heavyweight and well made, I replaced round aluminum steamer. Because of its rectangular shape crab legs has no problem steaming without break the legs apart.I bought this product to steam and not canning.

Very disappointing!!!!!!!
Bought this canner in February anticipating to use during tomato canning season. . . Today, I had it fully loaded (on the stove) with 36 pints of tomatoes and started filling with water. . . It started leaking water in one of the corners onto my stove. Talk about UNHAPPY!!! I expected quality for the price. 😞
