Summary: This microphone is well worth the price. If you don't want to spend more than $30 and you're willing to work with software filters, I would strongly recommend this microphone. This was one of the best valued purchases I've made. I would easily pay double what I paid for this microphone. Because it's a fairly inexpensive microphone, I wasn't expecting amazing sound quality, but it actually does its job quite well. Out of the box, it buzzes a little bit, which is easily fixed with a couple free audio filters (I used VST plugins on my computer). The included tripod is about 5 inches tall and has adjustable tilt. The microphone is held onto the tripod with a shock mount using elastic bands, and the included pop filter is a nice touch that really adds to the value of this mic. The mic is rechargeable (micro USB), and it has a battery life of about 6 hours. I would recommend against charging the mic while using it, because the charging causes interference. However, this interference can easily be eliminated using low pass and noise filters (which is what I do). The microphone has other nice features, such as built-in adjustable echo (I don't use it, but I'm sure someone will), a built-in volume slider, and a media passthrough, which is especially useful if you only have one jack on your device. In terms of appearance, it looks professional and feels premium. This microphone is an incredibly great value, and it can sound surprisingly nice with the right mix of filters. I would highly recommend this microphone to anyone looking for an inexpensive mic that sounds great and doesn't require any extra accessories.

I am not a techno-geek and I had a little trouble getting the mic to work the way I wanted. I am creating videos for YouTube featuring me singing karaoke. When I was having problems getting started with the mic I simply contacted the ZealSound folks and they bent over backward to give assistance. They even offered to replace the mic if necessary. Customer service at ZealSound gets an A+ from me. So does the mic. Now, here is the little bit of help I want to pass along to you. I do not use special audio recording software for my videos. Recently, I purchased a Logitech c922 HD webcam. I downloaded the free software from the Logitech site and opened up the Realistic audio program that came installed on my Dell Inspiron desktop computer. I am operating Windows 10 Professional. The Logitech software allows me to choose the mic I want to use (either the one that is aboard the webcam or the one plugged into the Realistic audio software (in this case the ZealSound)). The master volume control is cranked up to the max and the system mic was chosen as the input (the ZealSound). Also, the ZealSound mic volume is cranked to the max. The resulting sound is rich and mellow and sounds like a radio DJ. I am impressed by the quality. Thank you ZealSound for making such a professional quality product available to me for such an amazing price (at the time of purchase I received a 25% discount from ZealSound and free shipping through Amazon Prime. You just can't beat that deal anywhere!!!)

The sound was really nice, and I liked how simple it was to set up (just plug in and go). But the sound kept cutting out, so when I'd go to edit a video I recorded I'd find that there were sections I had to re-shoot, or in some cases I had to re-shoot the entire video, because the sound would cut out for a split second and you'd miss parts of words or entire words. I think it had an especially hard time with the short A sound as in "backpack." That seemed to be the sound that would cut out most often. I don't know if that was an issue with an over-zealous noise canceling feature or what. I didn't want to return it, so I kept trying it, but I ended up spending twice as much time recording and editing videos and I'd usually have to settle for minimal cutting out on re-recordings rather than no cutting out. So I did end up returning it. UPDATE: After I returned the product and got a refund (which was easy), ZealSound customer service reached out and offered a different mic model for free, which I felt was too much because I'd gotten a full refund. But they were insistent, so I said okay. They sent it out to me really fast and this new one works great so far. No complaints, and I like the way it looks better than the first one I bought. Because of this great service I'm updating my review from 2 stars on this microphone to 4 stars, because great service like that deserves to be recognized and rewarded.

3.5 starts! Quality construction is good! I'd would rate that 4 stars! The price point is fair for 30ish usd. -Now why is not a 5 star product in my opinion? I used this to record myself singing a cover song, mo voice distorted at certain notes, even after recording multiple times at different distances from the mice to avoid the same effect, NOTHING seems to work except to lower the mic input, at that point it's hard to really record something useful to be paired with an instrumentl track. This is good for voice recording, podcasts or simple sound bites. NOT FOR SINGING! I really tried to use it. I did the returning process, but after trying to tune this mic, I lost my returning window. I'll keep it to record voice overs.

I bought this mic a few weeks ago and it works really well! The design looks sleek and modern. I used it for recording songs and the recordings came out sounding very good. But you can not expect any professional-sounding recordings and it isn’t very directed. The packaging is small so it is convenient to take it with you on the road. The mic set up instructions are easy to follow. I am excited to use it to record more songs in the future! Such a good and inexpensive product!

The order came in with a missing cable, but the service was great and i got a replacement unit within a few days. Thanks to the extremely helpful service people. The microphone is very easy to set up and user friendly in operation. I have tried it out and hear a noticeable improvement in sound quality compare to the built-in mic of my earphone. And you can adjust the echo to your comfortable level, and you can connect either to your cellphone or computer, exactly what i wanted. I'm happy with the purchase. I will use it this weekend to record my teaching lessons and might add more comments to the review.

I set this up exactly like what the user manual told me to, my laptop was fully capable with this device and was functioning well. I also tried to troubleshoot input devices on my computer and it still didn't work. I've done tones of soundcheck and other devices as well (including my laptop, phone and DSLR camera, and it doesn't work too. the battery was fully charged, obviously the power was on and the volume was turned all the way up but no sound was recorded (trust me, I got a wave analysis of this through Waveform and Audacity). and the sound quality when connect your computer to the mic and to my headphone was terrible. only the sound from the mic to the headphone was fine. Truly regret

Purachased this product. Performance is below average, Echo effects is non standard. I used Xiaokoa brand, before. It was amazing. Go for Xiaokoa better & cheaper than Zealsound.
