paradise indeed
I loved this book. There are real laugh out loud moments, Anna has some great one liners. The real love story itself is so well written, I felt genuine warmth reading this. Christina knows how to write a good one.

Lots of characters
The fake dating trope is quite a popular genre and I thought this might be much like the others, but it a bit more substance.Anna and Liam married for convenience to get campus housing but after two year they went their separate ways and forgot about each other. Well Anna did, but unknown to her Liam kept up the pretence with his family, his plan was to file for divorce after the 5 years stipulated in his grand father’s will, at which point he would get access to his inheritance. A few years later his fiction started to unravel when his parents demanded that Anna attend his sister’s wedding with him. They had never met her and thought that it was past time that they should. SoLiam found Anna and proposed that they attend the wedding together, he gave her a condensed version of why he needed her and offered to pay for her time, so she said yes. But the truth of why Liam needed her there was much more complicated and one he hoped that Anna would never find out. There are quite a few awful characters in this book, people who think their money makes them better than everyone, who only care about themselves and skewed family relationships but there are also lovely people and they make it a worthwhile read.

A book full of sunshine, banter and spice
I thoroughly enjoyed The Paradise Problem. The staple banter of Christina Lauren was turned up a notch in this page turner of a novel. I love dual view point stories so it was right up my street and the island paradise setting proved to be the perfect summer read. The messed up family dynamics are so well drawn and the plot is engaging. One of this summer's favourite reads!

Didn’t quite hit the spot
3.5⭐️The Paradise Problem is my first Christina Lauren book and unpopular opinion I have mixed feelings. It feels like a knockoff Crazy Rich Asians. This follows the story of Anna and Liam, who married in college to access student housing. Five years later, Liam needs Anna’s help in accessing his inheritance.I didn’t feel the excitement and buzz that the blurb created and it took way much longer to finish and this happens when books fail to hold my interest. I didn’t enjoy this as much as I thought I would. There was something missing for me- the lack of chemistry, the infighting and the immaturity. There was so much focus on the dysfunctional relationship between the family that it took the shine off every other aspect of the plot. But I enjoyed the dual POVs. Anna is a trip. She has no filters and it was always a delight to read her chapters. She has a bubbly attitude and approach to life.If you love opposite attracts, close proximity, ‘fake dating’ then you will enjoy this.

3.75 stars
Lots of things I liked this book, some things I didn’t like. A lot of cute funny moments, however the pacing was weird in some areas and at times I couldn’t help but feel they were better off as friends than anything more. Also sue me but I will never like dual POV unless it’s absolutely necessary and I don’t feel like it was in this book, especially at the start, I kind of saw the use for it towards the end. I love Anna’s bubbly, eccentric, foul mouthed character. I thought West was just an okay MMC. Both of them are a little too horny. Overall it was a cute book, I like the authors writing style but it was cringe at moments, too millennial, but it’s not always a bad thing.

Absolutely perfect! No notes!!
I could have read 10 books worth of Anna and Liam just living their happily married life.

Island romance
This book is incredibly funny and had me laugh out loud more than a few times. The characters are amazing and it was wonderful to follow their story and to hate some of them.We follow Liam and Anna as they go from being married for student housing to falling in love as they fake their relationship for Liam's family. And all of that happens to the backdrop of a gorgeous private island, where Liam's sister Charlie is getting married.
