A First Violin Note Book: Practical Theory for Beginners
E**S
Helps teachers teach and learners learn!
A straightforward guide to note reading with clearly set out exercises for beginners, which helps the teacher teach and the learner learn.Being specifically for the violin (just treble clef) streamlines the information. Clarity is further enhanced by the fact that there are no unnecessary childish illustrations.I highly recommend this book.

a wonderful addition to learn or teach the basics ...
I am teaching a friends little girl the basics of violin, but theory is and will always be the key to play any instrument. I was most delighted to have found this book. It connects the instrument so well with the theoretical part, e.g. introducing the Violin, the strings, the values of notes... , the basics. I wish they would have had this when I was learning! The layout is simple and well arranged, with no silly pictures or illustration, (many seem to colourful and irritating I find!) . It offers little self-tests in between. Well, I use it for her as self study and works perfect!

Great! For violinists
This book is great and geared to violinists and their finger patterns rather than the usual piano c major intros to reading notes. All the usual useful rhythm and time signatures work is there, but the note patterns are violin oriented. Recommending to all my students. My son got loads from doing this book and the next one ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
